Pros:
Performances, action sequences.
Cons:
The movie has nothing special to offer.

The websites, the newspapers and especially trade analysts are crying hoarsly about Spiderman III’s earth-shattering opening. The first hollywood film ever to be released in local languages
like Tamil, Telugu, Bhojpuri etc. But what use is such extravaganza when the fim has nothing extra ordinary to offer?

Everything is going just right in Peter Parker A.K.A Spiderman’s life. He has found love, he remains at the top of his class and he keeps his boss at Daily Buggle happy. Ishtory mein twisht? Three villains or rather two villains are after Peter Parker. One is a local crminal who becomes Sandman when he accidentally enters into the particulate physics field lab while escaping from the police. Second is Eddie Broc, a young photographer hired by Daily Buggle. Peter Parker exposes that he’s a fraud and he turns into venom, a dark monster. The third is the new Goblin i.e, Harry Osborn. He wants to avenge his father’s death by killing Parker. But in the end he changes. Now, a mysterious black stuff attacks Parker, though he doesn’t realise it. His spidey costume turns black in colour and becomes more powerful. The darker side of Peter Parker becomes alive. Will he be able to fight his own dark side? Will he be able defeat the triple villains?

The  performances are top notch. Kirsten Dunst plays Peter Parker’s girlfriend. She’s mentally frustrated as she is sacked from her job and she realises that something’s wrong with Peter. She looks nice and acts well. Harry Osborn has a fair part to play as the new Goblin. He does extremely well. Man, his smile is really cute! The escaped criminal who plays sandman requires money to get her daughter treated. He does his job well. Finally, Peter Parker i.e Toby Mcgguire does a splendid job as the friendly super-hero in the first half and an evil spiderman in the second. His facial expressions are excellent.

Action sequences and special effects are brilliantly done. The fight between Harry and Parker, the scene where Sandman is born and the climax fight are superb. No wonder this is the costliest film ever made($258 millions)! The direction by Sam Raimi is excellent. The film is neither too pacy nor too slow. The background music is okay.

Some cool one liners :

1) "Where do All these guys come from?"
2) "I’m Spiderman, I’ll fly and throttle you."

The first Spiderman rocked and so did the second one. But this one’s good and good and only just good. The story at the end of the second movie remains as it is. No new development in the plot. Its just ’some new villain and new fight’. And the idea of ’everyone has a choice in life to do either right or wrong’ doesn’t appeal to me. Afterall, its an action movie, a super-hero movie. Fusing good morals in it spoils the movie. Even after all this, the movie entertains. If you have huge expectations with this movie, they’ll be belied. Just watch it and enjoy it and fotget it. I hope the same thing doesn’t happen with Shrek the Third and Pirates of the Caribbean : At World’s End which suprisingly come this month.
