I tried to book the ticket over the spicejet site but it had some flaws in it regarding which I had left a feedback note on the airline site about a month ago and still not gotten a response to the same. So even though it was a return ticket I had to book, I paid a little extra and booked it from one of the popular cheap airplane ticket sites.


I had booked a Chennai-Goa flight ticket in advance for april 10'2012. I paid for a more expensive Spicejet flight(as compared to other options) only because I needed to put in a half day at work and then immediately fly down to Goa to carry out personal obligations.


With hardly 10 days to go, I get an automated call telling me that my flight timing has been prephoned with only 2 options -(1)to confirm new timing(2)to re-listen to the pretaped message and allow it to sink deeper and further frustrate.


1) If I knew of the flight being prephoned out of the blue like this I could have saved a reasonable amount of money even leaving by bus the previously day and getting to Goa before my flight trip even began. This would save me on both time and money.


Besides, whats the point spending another day hanging around to catch a flight at a weird time that would cause me to miss out on work hours as well.


2)Really annoyed by the audacity and lack of courtesy from an industry that prides itself on it's hospitality. The least I would expect would be a customer care executive to call and apologize for the inconvenience cause rather than get an automated phone call.


3)These guys realize right, that the flights that are later in the day are more expensive than the ones flying the route at say about 10am. If there are going to be variable rates and the timing does seem to make a difference in the rates - How in the world can you just mess with time?


4)I am aware that spicejet very often has delay in the flights taking off, add incidents like the one's mentioned above and you have an airline company which is and will make losses due to their own negligence.


I don't wish to travel by this airline again and wouldn't mind paying extra and traveling by some other carrier with a little more assurity regarding the time and peace of mind. I seriously hope I don't have to face with any more of these peculiarities as I still haven't even begun my journey and am already left with this frustrated feeling. I can see why the airline industry is doing so bad. What do you'll guys expect with such mismanagement. And the only reason I am posting this is that I feel that something should be done. We can't allow these jokers to take us for granted.


I will also send a copy of this to spicejet though with the quality of their service till now, I'd me more than surprised even they even respond leave aside solving any issues. Hopefully, less people in the future will have to deal with this.
