I flew from Chennai to Mumbai two days back and I can say taht it rocks. I travelled with Go and Deccan. Deccan was not bad. Go was OK and SpiceJet was good.

At Cehnnai airport Go and SJ share same X-Ray machine. and from the point when I have to take the baggage (I had three), SJ check-in counter was no visible as there was piller. Go attendent showned me the counter very well. I was slightly over luggage. 21 kg but SJ didn’t charge me. I felt lucky. Something I didn’t like about SJ, there was no one who tags your hang baggage os if you forgot that you need to come back to check-in counter and get the tag. Thoguh the tags are alwasy lying on the table at counter, they can just say "If you are carrying any hand baggage, plase tag it". I faced similar situation in case of Deccan and had to come back from Security check-in. Was lucky when travelled by Go (twice). I never had such a swift and pleasing check-in.

About ticketing they are not so cheap (in price) like Deccan if you buy early. I have seen few Re ZERO tickets on Deccan. (thoguh never bought as not sure about leave approval), but you can get last minutes OK price ticket from SJ. I was on notification that I would be moved to Mumbai (my home town) anytime, so used to check prices for next two days flights several times a day. I found SJ reasonally priced. they have three flights from Chennai to Mumbai. One direct one vai B’lore and one via Hybad. They accept only Credit Cards for payments (Only Visa and Mster. No Amex cards). Some what bad as I don’t have credit card.

Somethng that I can definately like about SJ was being shown on the display board about the flight when it was more then an hour for departure. While travelling with Go/Deccan, none had displayed their "tentative" time or whatever on any board till it was taking gate. Deccan in fact never showed it at all. their flights are always late due to GOD KNOWS WHAT REASON. There are few instanses I knwo when Security checked in flyer missed flight due to not having info about flight.

Anyways, coming back to the SJ. I had a bus till the air craft. They didn’t have bridge access :(. One more bad thing. there were toal 3 buses which took passengers to the craft. First, the one I happen to take, was jam packed. Second one had max 10 flyer and third just four. First of all, Go and Aeccan uses only two coaches smartly for the same purpose and actually it can be used practically. SJ had THREE coaches with totally disproportinate number of passengers. SJ staff was very good in sense. I saw the the road barriers so buses won’t come close to wings also when the planes landed at Hybad. Small but important.

Sadly, they don’t sell stuff on board. they do plan it in near future. They do serv water on flight. but hey, when plane was on way from Chennai to Hybad all were given water bottle and while from Hybad to Mumbai flyers were gievn wanter ONLY on demad. That was bad spcially for customer flying from Hybad to Mumbai. Something taht you would notice about SJ flyer in general is that most of people carry mimimal baggage. I really don’t like people carrying too much of baggage and getting luggage spcae becomes a problem.

I landed happily and for first time I felt being served. Thoguh SJ is costlier then otehr LLC I would prefer SJ.

Yep. for first time I actually heard from Capt of lfight and he was kinda entertaining and interesting things to talk. Not like "On bahalf of Capt...." from  hostess/perser. Someting really kewl and the speaekers were nice too. I was sitting next to Engine and still could hear everything very well.
