Today, I had contacted the Sparsh Hospital Cash Counter Team through Ms Lakshmi (080-33271024) about a double-swiping of my Debit Card on December 16th at Sparsh Hospital in Bangalore. On the day in question, the lady handling the transaction swiped my card for the Rs350 treatment fees and the Rs250 Registration Fee. She then gave the card back to me along with the Rs350 receipt only - the receipt for the Rs250 was printed but not given to me so I assumed it came out rejected or void. After a few seconds, she then asked for the card again and swiped it again (for the third time) and then asked me to sign the receipt for Rs250. She knew full well what she was doing and this amounts to fraud. I understand from Ms Lakshmi that this lady in question is no longer working for Sparsh Hospital having resigned – very convenient – if at all it is true. I was also informed during the phone call that the patient before me was not charged a Registration Fee and to recover this fee, I was charged twice. What kind of blatant stealing and fraud is going on here? I’m sure Management would take action when they hear what is going on and how it is being covered up by the Finance Team.
I explained that I want this transaction reversed and the amount returned to me ASAP. This may be done by contacting your bank and asking them to credit the Bank account the money was taken from or credited back to the card. If you want me to come back to the hospital so that you can credit the card (as requested by Ms Lakshmi), then you will pay for the taxi there and back.
On the day we came to the hospital, someone from the hospital arranged a taxi to drop us back home and this taxi driver charged us Rs400 to take us to Electronics City (it doesn’t even cost that much to go to Bangalore East Railway Station!!) and it costs less than Rs200 to go a longer distance to D-Mart. This was a dedicated taxi for the hospital we were told. So, this is yet another way to rip your patients/customers off and cheat them once again. I suggest that to save further embarrassment for your organisation, you stop using such unscrupulous taxi services. I also suggest that you attempt to recover Rs200 from this taxi driver and re-imburse me for this blatant over-charging.
If this money is not returned to me ASAP, I will not hesitate in initiating legal action and this will not only cost you more in financial terms, I will ensure it is all over the news as well which will be far more costly for your organisation.
My next step will be to contact Hospital Management if I do not hear some positive action has been taken by you tomorrow itself.
