I have studied at Sophia High School way back in 1950 till I passed out in 1957.Those days it was called Convent of the Sacred Heart. We had wonderful nuns as our teachers. Reverend Mother Anderson was our Principal , greatly loved, by all the students.
There was Mother Bourke, she regaled us , about stories, of World War Two. Mother Bourke, was very strict, but very humane and kind .All the nuns were. Sister Bullen was a gentle soul, always at her embroidery in the parlour, of the White Bungalow.
We were taught impeccable manners, it has been very valuable to me all my life. A wonderful School, my old Alma Mater, now Sophia High School.
I am sure the old traditions still carry on.
Indira Sil. my maiden surname was Kirpalani.
