Pros:
Great feature set, good looking, good price
Cons:
Low talk time, low speaker volume.

I am a die-hard Nokia user and this was my first purchase of a SE Phone. Overall I am satisfied, but this phone has also given me more problems than the trouble-free Nokia handsets I have used for several

years.
I should mention that my usage of phone is fairly basic. Since I’m on the phone a lot, and on the move a lot, I need a long battery life. Also, I’m a bit careless and frequently drop/ forget my phone, so I don’t want a very expensive model. And I’m determined to always get the best feature set at the lowest price - why pay huge sums for bells and whistles when technology is always driving the cost down?

The Good points

As other reviewers have mentioned, no Nokia phone can match the feature set that the K510i provides at this price. Comparable featured Nokia phones cost at least Rs.2000 more

The wallpapers, icons and apps provided are far better than Nokia.

The phone is very good looking, stylish and compact for the price

I have dropped it frequently and it is as sturdy as the Nokia workhorses - nothing broke, everything still works fine.

The bad points

The display (backlight) stays on continuously while talking. Initially I thought this was a flaw in my phone. But when I wrote to SE online support, they assured me that this is normal feature of the phone. As a result of this (I suspect) battery life is very poor. I have tested and figured that I only get just over 2 hrs of talktime  as against the talktime of seven hours promised on the website. I would not recommend this phone if you like to have long conversations.

The onboard speaker is very faint and tinny and to hear it, you have to keep the phone close to your ear which obviously defeats the purpose. Be prepared to invest  extra in handsfree/bluetooth.

My phone came with a bug (Software error) which prevented me from using the phone while charging (It would show ’charging error’). I had to get this fixed and I was not very happy with the service provided at Accel Service Centre Pune - they kept the phone for 10 days.

Net net - if you’re a light talker, if you want a real fancy set of features at a reasonable price, go for it. I personally feel that next time round, I am ready to spend Rs.1000-2000 extra to get a Nokia.
