I bought DSC-W5 in August 2005 for Rs. 12,500 on ebay.
Likes -
a. Big LCD - 2.5"
b. Decent 5.1 MP
Dislikes -
a. No image stabilization
b. Images are not very sharp

Reasons for buying -
a. Cheap - for a 2.5" LCD + 3xZoom - This is pretty much as cheap as it gets
b. Available (on eBay)
c. Needed something quick
d. One of my friends already had one.

Now, I would never buy any camera without optical image stabilization. So if you are looking for a new camera, go for one with Image Stabilization, 6+ MP, large LCD screen. I like Canon better than Sony for sharper images without flash. This camera uses flash almost all the time, making images unnatural.

I don’t know why there is a 150 word limit on these reviews. They should allow something like mini reviews. It’s a drain to do a 150 word review. I am writing these sentences only to be able to submit. And also when you submit, and you get the warning - "Your review should have at least 150 words", you should probably give how many words are remaining. It will be helpful. Brevity is the soul of wit.
