I bought this phone back in 2014. I researched a lot about android phones available under INR 20000; and my final options were: Sony Xperia C3 Dual, HTC desire 816, and Samsung Galaxy Grand 2.
I chose to go with the SONY XPERIA C3 DUAL. And, I am happy with my decision that I made. Though, today there are many other phones which have more features, are more powerful etc. This was the best phone available at that price during late 2014 and early 2015.
I bought the starry black color, it was the best option available. This color feels really good. This phone is really very slim, and feels nice to hold. It has a capacative touch screen, and the touch responses are really very good. I have had no issues yet with the screen.
Though you may assume that the camera would be super good-as Sony is one of the leaders in camera technology-it is just satisfactory. It has a 16x zoom, which is way better compared to 4x zoom on other devices, but the images get really blurry at such high zoom values. The front camera is one of the best that I have seen after the iPhone 5s, and there are also many special features available which enhance the camera experience.
I am still using the same phone, and it has recieved two major android os updates: Lollipop 5.0.1 and 5.1.1, from base kitkat os. And there are no technical glitches generally.
There are a few downsides also, the speaker is not that loud, but generates decent quality sound. The back is non removable. The TFT touch screen is really tough and durable but the back side, i.e. that plastic rear portion may crack slighlty from the egdes after being dropped from significanlty high altitudes. There are no Custom roms available officially for the device, like Cyanogen mod or any other rom. The last and the most important downside is that has only 8gb internal memory, which is not much sufficient when using apps like Whatsapp, Messenger, or Khanacademy that save files only on the internal storage.
Overall, on a scale of 10, I would rate the phone a 6.5/10.
