No, I am not saying that 4-inch megaphone can replace the good old 14-inch Dell in your backpack, but damn, it handles all your infotainment requirements, and does it amazingly well.

After a lot of hue and cry for the OS, the Xperia finally got a much-deserved multi-touch Android 2.1 upgrade in January 2011(Those who haven't yet updated: Hurry! Don't miss this!). Battery life is a bit dismal at first, but the battery gradually "grows" on you. My initial battery figures were hardly greater than 6 hours of heavy use - however now it has gone up to 9 hours of juice. Don't expect miracles here - all androids suck in terms of battery life. If you need a phone that lasts a month on a single charge, take a look at Micromax.

Having covered the pain areas, let me cover the things that you will love about this gadget(can't call it a phone!)

Looks: Don't call it sexy; its an understatement. One of the most beautifully designed handsets I have ever used, it combines the perfect balance of sharp edges and curves to create a device so massively appealing, you might just end up staring at it open-eyed even when it's switched off. It's big, no second thought on that - but damn slim too and easily fits in Jeans pockets. The color preference varies from person to person, I love the black version with the rubbery back panel. The white version looks too Apple-ish to me!

Processor: Damn, 8 years back, my PC used to have a much lower configuration than this 4-inch gadget of today. Needless to say, the O/S is very zippy and I have never seen a crash or a freeze-up till date. Ofcourse there are FC issues with applications, but such issues are application-and developer-dependent. navigating and scrolling are extremely smooth and there is no lag whatsoever.
