I bought this phone rather hesitantly. After 5 years of Nokia addiction I had vowed myself to remain away from the heavy weight champions. So, before leaving to the store I gifted my old Nokia N70 ME to my younger bro & eagerly went to the store, without a clue of what I'm going to buy. I asked the store-keeper to show me something which is slim & smart enough to replace my N70. The first thing he showed me was the Silver-Black Sony Ericsson T700.

On first look it wasn't very impressing. I hadn't seen this phone before anywher in the print or on the TV. So I wanted to get a first-hand feel of the device. Unfortunately there wasn't a dummy model to get my hands on to.

Reluctantly, I asked him & moved on to the next phone(another SE; I don't remember the model). It had a dummy, was light, tiny & pretty okay. I had it on the billing desk & was getting it billed. But right then, I changed my mind almost instantly(I still can't explain why) & swapped it for the T700. It costed me 11, 800 INR(2 months back).

Day1- I unboxed it & was shocked to find the handset so much light. Then I came bak to my senses & inserted the forgotten battery. Anyhow, the handset does feel very light. Technically, its 78g(including the battery) & just 10mm thin.

The other things I found insied the box are the Media CD, Handsfree & a 512MB M2 card. The first thing I did was to transfer some music onto the device & play. To my horror, the phone went off when I changed tracks. - on my first day. I was very very disappointed with myself. I visited the SE website to complain. I registered the product first. Upon registration, I found a tiny link to the new Firmware than the one currently on my phone. I thought I should try. I downloaded the new Firmware & installed it through the hassle-free SE PC Suite included in the Media CD.

The phone restarted & I tried so many things after that & each of them worked like a charm. Relieved:)

Later- Found that its almost impossible to remove the SIM card wihtout using a tiny pair of forceps. Anyways, who changes SIM cards when the number-portability comes into place.

Day2- There are so many good thing about this phone. I'll just highlight the prominent ones. The large 2.0-inch(240x320 pixels) QVGA 262k colour screen is spectacular. Games/Pictures/Videos/Themes look awesome on the HQ screen. There are built-in Flash themes which are very elegant. The UI is very easy(inspite of me being a Nokia fan). The stereo loud speaker is pretty loud. The hero is the in-box earphones. They are truly amazing. With stereo-widening & equalizers at the right setting(on the phone), the bass-reflex earphones give a powerful listening.

Day3- The 3.2MP fixed-focus camera is good. It takes very good pictures outdoors compared to other camera phones with similar resolution. The in-built flash(which can be set to use as a torch) is good enough for a macro. Videos are captured in MP4 format and are promising. Gaming is based on JAVA 3D. All games look amazing on the HQ screen & did I mention the screen orientation can be changed to either horizontal or vertical when viewing media?

Day4- I tried the streo FM Radio. It comes with RDS & track identification(requires GPRS). The built-in Netfront 3.4 browser is a full-featured browser. You can do almost everything you can do on your PC. It even has a magnetic mouse-pointer! When in landscape mode, it gives better viewing. Streaming works very well. Youtube videos play like a charm. Web feeds too. The in-built Google Maps works out-of-the-box, as with all other feauters. Battery life is 3 days. I had to charge it again on the 4th day.

Day5- Did not get a chance to test 3G though. The Mega-Bass setting in the Audio Player got a new fan in me. Used the PictBridge feature to transfer & print some photos. Works fine. The slide-shows with background music in the Media Manager on the phone is something to look for. PUSH e-mail works fine as well.

Day20- The SE T700 does everything I want it to. There isn't a feature that I need & isn't on my phone.

.

Day60- Totally satisfied. Love you SE T700.
