So its review time ?.hmm Sony CMD J-5 a prized possession in my collection ?because its different ..yes u bet when u want to stand out of the normal NOKIA people and yet want to make a statement with the phone u have then ?here it is a gleaming sleek and silver gray phone all for your use?
Be aware NOKIA fans its not the same phone that you handle daily I got its own OS and a thing that will save your thumb that is the scroll wheel its totally different ?lot different than any phone that I ever came across with ?my personal favorite is the Erricson T39-M its some thing that left me panting to operate I love complication ?so the thing it that Sony made a great thing with the CMD range and this is not left behind its really good
The thing that stands out is the T9 editor at the message option ?it learns on its own ! now that is what I don?t see in the NOKIA yes the function is there but u need to add the word but here its automatically taken !!!!
BUT before u reach the all the menu u need to unlock the keypad ?.thumbs down to the Nokia people hey here its different no number key need to be pressed just a flick of the side switch and presto it open its alive ?.
I has all the function that u need to have ?.WAP and stuff that will make u go gaga its messaging functions do have a attach function that attaches the picture and the sounds that are there?.
Downside : Only a CMD user can see the picture and sound ?.others are left out
The phone holds on lots of time with the talk time pretty good for a whole day out roamer
Its dual band so no network hassle and yes its polyphonic ?.so it sings rather than barking of the Nokia 3310and series
The thing is over all a collectors item and yes its fully functional ?.But
NO SERVICING DONE IN INDIA ?.Sony international refused my request as I need to update my software ?so you don?t get a genuine workman here ..they told me that this phone was never introduced in INDIA so its useless if got problem ?otherwise u have an excellent workman who fiddle with the software (usually a unlocker guy will do the things )
Overall I rate it recommended.
