I have Sony Bravia KDL40EX520 purchased in Aug-2013. Few days back my TV was totally blank No Video just little bit of snow noise. I registered complain with Sony Authorised service centre about the issue with my TV. After 4 days technicial visited my home and checked the TV.
He opened it up and just checked continuity of circuit board from Data cable connector pins to board circuit just one inch away from the connector pin. And he conluded that the LED TV panel has been damaged and need to be replaced and it would cost Rs 22, 800/- aprox. I realised he is just bluffing since he didnt check any components properly.
I myself did online research for such TV issues and realised there are many people suffering from such issues just after 1 year. For Sony Brand TV such faults in TVs had shattered my Robotouchnd Robotouchef in the Sony Brand. While researching for repairing such problems I came accross few youtube video's where they showed how to rectify such issues on your own.
Through these videos I came to know that No Video with sound is mostly caused due to failure in T-con card. I mailed sony to provide me T-con card through their website but they didnt. So I searched websiteds where I would get it. I found https://aliexpress.com and https://alibaba.com where I could order those. It cost me just 20USD i.e Rs.1280/- a peice. I ordered 3 for spare if such problem reoccurs since shipping cost from china was 40USD.
I replaced the card on my own and the issue of no video was rectified. Thanks to all good people who share such tips on youtube. I would never buy TV or any Sony brand product and would suggest same to new buyers. Since Sony is manufacturing TV's with very less life expectancy. And their authorised service centre are there to squeeze more money from you by making you belive that you need to make costly replacements. No integrity at all.
