“Love is like a violin. The music may stop now and then, but the strings remain forever.”Background: Socha Na Tha is all about a pure childlike love. Most of
my friends didn’t like this movie, but still each one of them suggested me to watch this. They say this movie is made only for me. The kind of love, the kind of innocence, the kind of joy, the kind of kindheartedness shown in this movie could only be applicable to a fantasizer like me. October 7, 2005 all my friends were going for Dandia, they requested me to come with them. Personally I love to go in these kinds of traditional functions but that day I didn’t go. I just said I’m not feeling well so can’t come. I lied because I had to watch to this movie. When this movie was released I wanted to watch this but I had some desires to watch this movie in some special way, again a dream, which didn’t happen, and I couldn’t watch this movie in theaters. And this time I didn’t want to miss the opportunity. I saw this movie alone as everyone else was gone for Dandia. Watching movie alone is a strange thing for me, as I never watch any movie alone. After watching the complete movie I realized why my friends were insisting me to watch this. I enjoyed every bit of this movie and now I would like to recommend this movie to my MS friends as well.
Plot: The story revolves around a guy (Viren), who has a girlfriend from last 3 years and now he wants to marry her. His parents want him to marry a girl of their choice. One day he meets up a girl (Aditi), who is his parent’s choice. He denies marrying her but they both become good friends. Due to his denial, there’s some conflict in both families. Apart from these family disputes their friendship grows and Aditi helps Viren to find her girlfriend. They both share some nice moments, when they go Goa for a trip. They didn’t even realize when their friendship grows into love. When they become sure about their love the situation was not in their favor. It’s a very sweet and emotional story and the ending is also exciting.
Abhay Deol: A simple innocent and descent guy who always craves for his true love gets trapped in some lousy situations, which is again created by his own stupid activities. Abhay Deol has done an excellent job in his debut movie. He looks cute and sweet and it’s exactly what the character of this movie demands. One thing, which I liked most about this character, is to be always in KEEP SMILING zone regardless of however big the problem is or however critical the situation is? I always prefer to apply the same principle. We should always keep smiling, because that gives an internal joy and strength to you and the person you are interacting with will also feel the same induction effect.
Ayesha Takia: A cute, sweet, bubbly girl who believes in her dreams and she has her own way to live her life. She always craves for true love but never shows her craze into her actions. Her feelings are inner and very robust. Ayesha Takia has performed this character very well. She looks cute, simple and sweet. Whenever she laughs, her few pearls looking teeth pips out of her lips, which looks so cute. I bet you will fall in love with that pomegranate seeds looking her smile. There’s one very nice old song, which exactly applies for her:
“Tere chehre seee, tere chehre se, nazar nahi hatti,
nazare hum kya dekhe, nazare hum kya dekhe…”
Location: Some scenes of this movie are taken into Goa, a place, which is again a dream. If I take names into consideration, this place has something special for me. For example
Go for Gopalganj (my birth place),
Go for Gousia (my native village) and
Go for Goa (My favorite traveling destination). So this place is something special for me and now I’m planning to write a series of reviews for Goa. Let’s not discuss much on this topic here, very soon you will find my reviews in this category.
My Views: If you are admirer of sweet love stories and like to watch real feelings, this movie is made for you. It shows the love full of emotions. Songs of this movie are also very nice, my favorite song from this movie is, “Wo yara rab ruth jane de, wo yara jag chhoot jane de”. This movie is now added to list of my favorite movies because it shows the true innocent face of love. Every sequence of this movie is exciting but I like the scene where Aditi comes to Viren’s office and tells her to run away. Viren is trying to explain her that whatever she is doing is not correct but still coming with her. It’s very lovely sequence. The climax of this movie is also exciting. Suppose you left your home for a girl, with whom everyone wants you to marry. Laying on an open truck and going to any anonymous place with singing a lovely song.
“Hunmne ghar choda hai, khushiyon ko toda hai,
ab dur kahi jayenge, nayi duniya basayenge..”
Don’t you find it a sweet dream?
