Skoda Service Woes - JMD Service - Just Ridiculous

This is yet another story about the service woes of automobile company(Skoda India) which customer's often face. I wouldn’t have written this as most companies are not known for quality after sales service but I am penning this down as it was really really ridiculous time we had for past couple of weeks.


A case of replacement of Lights in the Skoda Octavia under Warranty, The car was called for head light replacement on 9th Sept as requested by us after making an application for under warranty replacement on 4th Sept.(call received from Mr. Mahesh, JMD India Ltd., Bhandup).


On 9th when our driver reached the car was accepted and kept with them saying that lights are expected and we will replace and give a call when the car is ready. The Lights never came but the Car was serviced for the things which were not required and a bill was produced of Rs.9000 odd bugs(Oil Change etc) absolutely not required. The car was bought back by us saying that all these things were not required and you should have asked us before going ahead with such a big bill, we said we will settle the bill when the lights are replaced which was agreed by the service center.


Now a big surprise.


We got a call from the service manager(Mr.Mahesh) from Bhandup service station on 22nd Sept that Lights have come and bring the car to replace it. We sent the car to JMD, Bhandup for replacement on reaching there we were told by Mr. Muneeb Punjabi, Works Manager, JMD India Ltd, Bhandup that the lights are in Nerul and the car needs to be taken there, if they knew we had to go to nerul they should have informed us accordingly but these people think we have ample free time to go behind them and diesel in our cars come for free.


The car was sent to Nerul Service Station,


Another surprise.The lights were being replaced by the service men and while replacing them he broke one of the fog lamps, Just look at the argument from the service center(Mr. Sanjay): the service center wanted us to pay for the light which were broken by the service men while replacing the lights inside their workshop and we will have to pay for it. Can anyone beat this.at the end of the day in the evening we figured out that the wiring was short and the lights went off in middle. the Service center very coolly said that it is already late and we will have to come someother time to replace the wiring for which we will be charged, Now who will be responsible if the lights goes of in middle of road and the car meets with an accident. They just don’t care about our lives.


*Now tell me: how can one recommend someone to buy any automobile from such a company. Something has to be done about it and I would require someone to follow up on this and let me know if, is it the companies policy to save the service engineers for their mistakes and ask customer's to pay for those mistakes.
