Skoda India that has recently discontinued the Fabia hatchback in India, is now planning to launch the Octavia in October, which will replace the Laura brand. Skoda Octavia will also have the company's new logo, which will also be seen in the Skoda Rapid. The new Skoda Octavia will be offered with two engine options- 2.0-litre diesel and 1.8-litre petrol.
There are also rumours that Skoda could also use the 1.4-litre petrol turbo powertrain that also does its duty to the Volkswagen Jetta. The new Octavia is based on VW group's new LMQ platform.
