Yeah you are right…U did read the title correctly ‘ The S Brigade’ just like the K brigade!!!
To make the review wholesome, I am going to dwell into the story of Sindoor tere naam ka, so that you the oh-so-interested reviewer will experience the joy of Indian television at its best. Lets first introduce the main characters in this serial
Vedika Raizada – Sarve Goon Sampan (bestowed with all virtues). Now dead
Dhruv Raizada – Vedikas Husband
Antariksh Raizada – Dhruv’s Elder Brother
Niharika Raizada – Antarisk’s ex-wife, Rudr’s x-wife and now Shyam’s wife
Rudr Raizada – Mr. Raizada’s illegitimate son, Niharika’s ex-Husband, Now dead Supposedly Alive
Mr Raizada – The father
Mrs (legal) Raizada – The Mother. Now dead
Mrs Sundari Raizada – the Other women…now no where to be seen
Titli Mami– Mrs (legal) Raizada’s sister, stays with the family
Arpita – Wife of Dhruv’s Look alike….In row to become lead now.
And MANY MANY more!!!!
So I have introduced the main characters in this serial, knowing well that in a matter of a month, the whole story line will change.
So the story starts off with the Raizada family, where Antariksh is the momma’s boy, coz he saved Dhruv when he was young and in the process becomes ‘Kinda’ disabled. Then Antariksh is about to be married, and is chided for his disability. In Krodh, Mom Raizada, swears that she will bring the most beautiful girl for Antariksh to be his bride, and she does, but there is a twist, Niharika the would-be-bride agrees to marry Antariksh only if the Dhruv will agree to marry Vedika coz she is mentally I’ll (What a trade I must point out!!)
And from there the serial progresses, Niharika is having an affair with past lover, and so is thrown out of the house, in the meantime, Vedika becomes the perfect bahu. Then Antariksh is slowly poisoning Vedika, to turn her mad. In the meantime, another TWIST in the story is Mr.Rudr, entering the house. He is the illegitimate son of Mr. Raizada. He then introduces another TWIST his mom Sundari, who is hell bent on destroying the house and pulls a load full of evil tricks from her bad. But fear not!!! Vedika is always there to thwart all the plans…thank god for her right..otherwise god knows what would have happened!
Ok here is another TWIST, it turns out that Rudr is not the illegitimate son, but Antariksh is !!! coz as fate (a.k.a the writers) would have it Mrs. Legal Raizada and Mrs. Illegal Raizada, gave birth at the same time at the same hospitals to sins of Mr. Raizada (Brilliant!!! Haven’t seen such a plot before!)….and Mrs. Illegal (Sundari) Raizada switches the babies.
Then Niharika comes back into the house coz she marries Rudr, and then Vedika, becomes a Dance girl (TWIST) . Then, Vedika is reunited with Dhruv, and they go to Hongkong, where they are separated again, when Dhruv looses his memory and gets some girl pregnant (Major TWIST), and when she does give birth the baby is adopted my Vedika and Dhruv
Further on Rudr dies and Antariksh throws Niharika out of the house, then Kajal comes in the picture she pretends to be Blind, but is’nt and was a Bar dancer unknown to the family (What a major TWIST), then the family is ousted from the house by Niharika, then Niharika marries someone (I don’t care at this point!!!), then somewhere along the line another TWIST is that Arpita enters the house, who thinks that Dhruv is her husband, when in fact her husband is dead and just happened to look like Dhruv!!!
Then another TWISTArpita’s dad poisons and Kills Vedika (oh the disaster), and then Dhruv marries Arpita inspite of Niharika’s objection ( and constant screaming at the top of her voice). At this moment the TWIST is that Dhruv has just informed Arpita that they will be married just for name sakes….and the Biggest TWIST of all….Someone has spotted Rudr ALIVE!!!!! (hallelujah)
To add to the oh-so-SIMPLEstory lines, we have tons of pleasant top-of-my-lungs-Screaming, to-each-their-own-bucket full of Tears (you cannot even begin to comprehend how much this really is), focusing on each face atleast 3 times from different directions accompanied with scintillating music and not to forget the totally (IR)rational storyline!!! Yipeee!!!!
Yeah I admit, I was watching this serial till sometime back, they lost me during the Hong Kong drama!!!! I had had enough, really! But we lesser humans don’t know there is nothing we can do to escape SINDOOR. I get compulsory updates from my family or friends who are still glued to this tear jerking drama, about the idealistic BAHU, who is the savior to her family amongst all those who are scheming and plotting against them!
I say don’t watch it, unless of course you secretly crave the K brand of serials, and are looking to expand your horizons by watching the S brand of serials….only disappointments would be, you will find the same scheming people here and the same stories that you would have just switched from.
PS: Wonder why in all these so-called-serials it is always the Women, that are shown to be such evil and manipulative being…hmmmm…makes me wonder and appauls me to be truthful!!
