I had booked two return tickets from bangalore-delhi-bangalore with Air Deccan online system. I wanted to prepone it but since air deccan did not have availability, I had cancelled it around 5th Feb and was told by the online system that I will be losing some 1900 Rs. as cancellation charges.
 
However, when I did not see the remaining amount reimbursed in my credit card bill, I checked with customer service and they told me that the system has not cancelled it! I stand to lose some Rs 19000 just because of this flaw in the system.

It didn’t help talking to Air Deccan authorities at various levels, they are not equipped to solve or verify such records. Being from a ecommerce related company, I know how important it is to keep transaction records for important events like Bookings and Cancellations when you are dealing with public money.
 
On talking to their technical heads, I found that they DO NOT have any such records. They do not even send some cancellation confirmation mails and I did not save the cancellation confirmation web page (I never needed to do it with various other online transactions I do).

I hear a lot of other problems with Air Deccan. One of my friends went to airport and found that their flight is delayed. By the time he came back at the designated time they mentioned, the flight had taken off! They did not give any refunds for this and he lost all his money!

Then, a colleague of mine was doing a booking with Air Deccan and their scripts crashed and what he sees is a list of credit card numbers! People with wrong intentions could very well misuse it!

It is not right for any organisation to play with public money and get away with it! The next thing I am going to do is to go to the press and file a FIR!
