''Preview''

This is going to be more of a preview than a review as I havent finished reading the book yet. And going by the author it will take a minimum of 40 days for me to get atleast a glimpse of the ''method''. Being not sure if this time I plan to put into this book is really going to be worth it, I did a few enquiries (including our own Pooj and Jilmil)to see if anyone had read/used this book/method. Looks like none of the original guyz who might have read this book are any longer in the land of the living!!

So I did the next best thing and requested a re-vue on MS through MS notwithstanding the warning by Pooj that no-one is gonna re-vue the book unless I myself write it!!

So here I'm. Writing a re-vue(?) on a book I havent finished yet!! And considering how fast things in this category of ''self help'' change, I really wonder if the book is relevant now.(After all it was written in the last century!!). So here is a bit about the book. If any one has read/used the Silva method I request them to either write a re-vue or atleast let me know about it in the comments.

Down Memory Lane

This book has been around for about 2 odd decades now!! I remember many moons ago when I was a student walking down M G Road in Bangalore and eyeing this book on the pavements!! I always had a soft corner for this guy as he shared(ok!Ok!! I share) the same name! But in those days I really couldn't afford the book.

Well time has flown by and I'm done with atleast 3 job hops!! And walking down the same old streets in Bangalore, one day I saw a really ''well used'' copy of ''The Silva Mind Control Method for Bussiness Managers''. I picked up the book and started reading it. The writing is not fast paced as the author till almost the middle of the book only tells you what a biz manager can hope to achieve by practising this method without telling anything about the ''method'' itself.

By the time half the book is over, he starts telling you about the method. The method according to Silva is to do all your creative thinking at the ''alpha brain wave'' level. He claims(Eyesopen I need help here. Could we see your dazzling ability to check out the facts and throw some light on whether this works or not!!). He calls this ''active meditation''. He also claims that people working from the alpha level are ''clairvoyant''. Now once I finish the book, I'll try to explain these terms a bit more if I can. The author gives you methods to get to the alpha level. The only problem is that he says one needs to practise ''getting to level'' for atleast 40 days before even a bit of effectiveness of the method can be seen!! He even forbids reading further unless one has perfected the method of getting to level!! So here am I --a harried soul!! 40 Days!! U must be crazy!!(no doubt the book was written in the Last Century!!!)

So help me Guyz!!! and let us on MS know if these things work or is it just another case of your ''mind over matter'' while someone else makes all the money!!!
