I have been reluctant to write about the film called SIGNS because a strange thing happened the next morning and continues until today!

Before you read this I wanted to tell you I have seen 3 ’’flying Saucers’’ and I haven’t decided yet if Angels and Aliens are the same thing.~O THE STARS O~

Mel Gibson plays Graham Hess.

Rory Culkin plays Morgan.

Abigail Breslin plays Bo.

Joaquin Phoenix plays Merril


~O MY REVIEW O~

This film is about a Family who lives in a farming area in Bucks County in Pennsylvania that is in the United the States. The Father’s name is Graham. He was a Preacher who’s Wife was killed in an automobile accident.

To escape his pain and his loss of ’’faith’’ he takes his Daughter, Bo, his Son, Mogan and his brother Merril, (a former Minor League Baseball Player), to live on a farm.

The Residents have been warned about an Alien Invasion and are all trying to do things to save them selves and their Family.

As I watch the film I began to think that we were back in time when the rule of law was ’’primal fear’’! I mean only you and your loved ones matter and give no thought to helping other people.

I am sure you have seen an ad on T.V. or in the Newspaper that shows the signs that are made in the Farmer’s fields. So I don’t think that this reveals much of the plot.

In the movie you do see some old news reels that are suppose to explain why these Farmers are seeing crip circles, (the signs), and strange lights in the night sky in some Countries around the World. Naturally this makes these People even more afraid than they were before.

The Aliens we see are not ’’little green or gray’’ but images that shows bushes shaking, Children screaming, a wall that has a lighter color than the rest of the wall the sign is a cross, and a blurred creature walking up a drive way.

You see people begin to face up to their fears. For example Graham going out at night with his flash light and walking through his fields.

I’m not going to tell you any more because that would ruin it for the People who haven’t seen the Movie yet. Although all the ads you’ve seen on T.V. might have given you the clues to what happens.

~O SOME THOUGHTS O~

I did you find this film scary because I didn’t feel it was meant to be about the supernatural but about what a person believes or doesn’t believe about this topic.

M. Night Shyamalan wrote the script and I wonder if he had any input into how the Actors played their roles as I found the roles were not developed fully and they fell short of what I would have expected from Mel Gibson ..etc. This might have been the fault of how Sam Mendes directed it or by Barbara Tulliver’s editing.

I did like the Musical Score that was created by James Newton Howard.

In the end I would say that all of the signs added up to zero!

~O STRANGE HAPPENINGS ACROSS CANADA O~

The day after I saw Sign in Farms in the Province of Quebec the same circle sign began to appear. The first one became a ’’breaking news story on CNN’’.

As I am typing this the signs have been moving west and now are appearing in Saskatchewan. The problem I have with any of the circle crops signs I’ve seen over the years is that they always end at a road.

This mean that all of these signs also add up to zero.
