I bought this washing machine last week  as my 10 year old IFB (suprimo) machine  broke down. Since I have used both the machines I would like to compare both of them.

1) Price - 10 years back I
bought IFB machine for 21 K Siemens cost me same today
2) Weight - IFB machine was too heavyweight  90Kg ( It use to have cement rocks on the top to keep machine at one place ).  It use to take 4 people just to move IFB machine. Siemens is  light weight(60kg) & Compact

3) Door quality - IFB was having  fiber  doors  Siemens has unbreakable glass doors. Siemens door is  perceived  stronger

4) Difficulty to use -  Both machines are simple to use ..  This model of Siemens  is very very easy to use. You just need to set desire program & start machine.

5) sound & vibration  --  Well Siemens wins here by extra miles.  Siemens washing machines are very stable & make  no noise. My IFB machine use to make hell lot of noise & it use to travel atleast half feet when I use to run it in full speed.

6)Quality of Wash - Siemens is winner here too.  Programs are simple & to the point. instead of setting programs depend upon time they have set it on desire usage.
e.g. To wash bed sheets it has heavy duty wash. To wash silk cloths it has easy care. Since my IFB machine was very old I dont expect it to perform same way.

7) After sale service -  IFB has worst service support.  Engineers  are not technically strong. Replace part failure rate is high,  Engineer try to replace part which don’t have problems.  on Siemens side I don’t have much experience yet.

8)Durability - IFB ran for 10 years but It  use to stop working once a year due to some parts failure. I have spent at least 10-15k on servicing in these 10 years. Siemens still very new to say about this.

Pros
IFB -  proven Durability, Price ,

Corns
IFB -  Makes lot of noise, vibration is high, Build Quality ( I compare new mode with my existing & its look like new models have cheap material  ) , Very bad after sale service.

Pros
Siemens -  Silent, Quality of Wash, Less vibration , Easy to use , Build quality

Corns -
Siemens  - Expensive than IFB basic models,   Product range is small (very few models to choose from) , No timer

Purchase Price (INR): 21000 (old replacement)
