The spellbinding sequel of late Sidney Sheldon’s

Master of the Game by Tilly Bagshawe is certainly a treat to the late master’s fan. The Author has fully captured the trademark elements of Sheldon’s craft in this captivating tale of power, glamour and suspense. The book with its fast narrative, powerful and beautiful characters and dazzling plotting is perfect sequel to Master of the Game. It begins where master of the game ended, spanning decades and follows the powerful Blackwell Family, their obsession and lust for inheritance of Kate’s company which leads to scheming of murder, betrayal, loss, lust and love.

Master of the game began with Jamie Macgregor unbreakable ambition and continued with his daughter, Kate and the rise of their company into a worldwide conglomerate. It ended with her determination to pass her legacy to her grandchild.

In Mistress of the Game, the story passes to next generation where children of Eve and Alexander battle to carry on the powerful legacy. Lexi Templeton, with burning ambition to prove herself and to take vengeance, has both beauty and brain. She desperately longs to follow her great grandmother footstep and become her own mistress of game.

Her competitor, Max, son of Eve, driven by hatred, jealousy and blinding devotion to his bitter and obsessed mother won’t stop at anything to win.

However, the language is quite simple, the writer could have used time reference more effectively, and a few more pages wouldn’t have hurted anyone. Nevertheless, these are very minute flaws. Overall it’s the perfect and apt sequel to the master of game. The author has retained all the charms of late Sidney Sheldon. All characters are self made, gorgeous looking and ruthlessly ambitious. Moreover the ending also depicts Sheldon’s style, i.e. protagonist is left with nothing in the end even after her arduous struggle.

P.S . if you are looking for a book which appeals to intellect, or to provoke your thought, avoid it. But if you simple want to read and be enthralled by what you are reading, then the book is for you.

I liked it coz I like Sidney Sheldon’s book and more importantly I love reading.
