Have you read this book? No, you should read this. This is the story of upbringing of Sane Guruji ( A maharashtriyan freedom fighter, social worker and what not) by his mother. The narration, the events, the characters are very well described. The movie also produced by great personality Mr. P.K. Aatre. Cast Madhav Vaze as Shyam and Vanmala as his mother. The director has given full justice to the original book without adding any masala to it. The acting, no doubt is class. Madhav and Vanmala had a great mother-son chemistry on screen. In fact Vanmala asked Mr. Aatre to replace the first Shyam as she did not get those motherly feelings for him. To get the actual feel the movie was also shot in all the locations where Shyam has been brought up. The songs are ultimate. In fact the last song ’’Aai.....   (Mother)’’ get you in tears.
This movie also got the First Presidents Award. The panel for selection of movies has no Maharashtriyan on it. Still this movie got the First Award. What else can describe the greatness of the movie.
Some scenes like, when mother forcefully send Shyam for swimming and then explained him that being a shy person is fine but being afraid is never fine etc. describes the basics of Sane Guruji’s greatness. Also, when he insisted to clean his feet after bath and asked mother to use her sari if towel not available, his mother explains him that you should be clean at heart also. That explains the great lessons by a mother.

It’s a great saga on ’’mother’’. That what I can say.
