This dealing with Shubh is something I never could give a miss to comment or rather complain about. I accompanied my wife to Commercials Street(Bengaluru) to buy daily use neck chain with Thali during Feb 2011. She selected a gold chain worth 40 gms which had solid pattern for daily usage. We also got it confirmed from the sales staff as well as from shop manager about its daily usage. We got as usual sales reply and best assurance. When I walked up to the cash counter I got to know that they discourage payment using debit/credit card. They were actually charging 2% for that. Our bill was around 1.3L and 2% was huge extra sum. They gave very silly reason for that which I knew not the real one.
Only other option we had was to get cash from ATM. We both used our respective cards to collect cash and paid to them. This is the mistake I wish we should not have done. Adding to the woes, to my wonder the receipt they provided was hand written but I could see a computer and printer lying around. I have raised this too but the response was not justifiable.
The solid pattern that we have bought is meant to be reliable and long lasting one. Usually such patterns last for decades without even a scratch on it which we have seen with elders in the family. But in our case, not even 2 years and it got broken. Before this my wife had hollow pattern gold chain with daily usage which never had broken even after five years of continuous usage.
As life time free service for this offered, we headed to Shubh shop to claim that. To our shock, we were told they do not have a service center in the city. I don't know how much true it is. Such a big city with so many retails, not a single service shop is unbelievable. What they said is they will get it repaired by sending it to some other city which could take more than a month and for that we need to first remove the thali pendants by ourselves and then hand over them just the chain. While selling they had no such problems and attached those pendants to the chain all by themselves of course taking some nominal charge. Now, to remove those pendants we have to go to some other jeweler repair who can even fix up the chain problem rather than just removing the pendants. So this is clear from Shubh's reluctance to provide any after sales service. They are just bothered about selling their low quality stuff. People beware when you buy from them. Do the quality check by yourself. Check each link in the piece you chose as their workmanship is too bad.
