The falls is located in Mandya district of Karnataka, on the way to mysore and is the best place to visit during after monsoon or in spring when the water level is not too high or too low to play and have fun.

Shivanasamudra does not have a railway station or a bus, so there is limited public transport facility available, so you better book a vehicle or take your own when you are going in groups.

From the top of the tower of shivanasamudra, you can see the gaganachukki and barachukki falls better to get beautiful pictures. The right one is the barachukki and the one on the left is Gaganachukki.

You have to climb down the stairs to go experience the water fall. The rocks are obviously slippery and be careful not to step in between the rocks. The waterfall is very soothing has a lot of force as it falls from a great height. There will be boating(not big boats but the round ones made of bamboo) and its really fun, specially when the person spins the boat!

The place where the kaveri river splits to give rise to these twin falls is very beautiful as well as dangerous as there have been many accidents of people trying to get into the river or even relax on rocks nearby as they will be slippery even if they look dry sometimes, so it is advised not to go to such places.

The hydroelectric station is still running, which boasts as being Asia's first hydroelectric power plant.

It is a nice place for people who love playing in water and I would recommend you visit this place with your friends or family for one day trip.

Note: there is no place to change your clothes if you happen to play in the water, so make sure you make some arrangements for that
