i think the best word to describe shikhar would be documentry as basically all it does is preach us about greenery, tissue culture, poverty and corruption.the movie though is not that bad but after the
interval story crawls on making the movie boring .the music of film is bad and direction sometimes appears amateurish.the film has a decent storyline but it lacks the fire sarfarosh which was directed by samedirector had.all in all shikhar is half good and only watch if you have nothing more exciting to do and i am sure you will get bored .the film also reminds of swades where srk also was on a social service mission
story
shikar basically is the story of gg(ajay devgan) an ambitious builder who wants to build an slick modern city having all the amenities in world at songadh a green place just outside mumbai inhabited and is helped by patil(manoj joshi) local mla who helps him procure the land but he runs into rough weather as guruji(javed sheikh) who runs an ashram with help of court stops the work.gg decides that he will procure land by exploiting guruji weakness which turns out is his son jaidev(shahid kapoor).gg first strikes a partnership with jaidev for producing a fashion label vaga with help of a designer raga(ash chandler) and takes him to thailand on pretext of shooting a ad film, jaidev brings along with him three of his freinds mansi(amrita rao) ,bhajanlal(sushant) and kusum(farah) so that they can learn advance techniques of horticulture.once there gg turns jaidev into a model and a smoker and drinker so that he can blackmail guruji for the land and also introduces jaidev to natasha(bipasha basu) to pressure jai.the film second half basically shows how jaidev realises gg wrong intentions and finally saves ashram
performance
gg-ajay devgan is brilliant as gg an ambitious and manipulative builder
jaidev-shahid is good as jaidev
guruji-javed sheikh is boring as guruji
natasha-bipasha basu has little to do as natasha
mansi-amrita rao is very boring as mansi
bhajanlal-sushant singh is funny as bhajanlal
