Even though I am just 16 years old and live in the USA, I have always loved Amitabh Bachchans movies, and Shakti tops the list.
Amitabh Bachchan and Dilip Kumar both delivered superb
performances and Rakhee, too, impressed with whatever little she had to do. Shakti is a story of an honest police officer (Dilip Kumar) who can sacrifice anything but the law, and as fate would have it, his own son(Amitabh Bachchan) ends up becoming a criminal. Both men possess a never-say-die attitude and neither of them wants to give up. The second half of Shakti is based on the Father-Son clash and as usual, good triumphs over evil. This movie teaches the audience a lesson, that crime NEVER pays! I did sympatize with Amitabh Bachan in the climax of the movie because he joins the crime world under unfavorable circuimstances and ends up being killed, something he did not deserve. But, as the movie teaches us, crime NEVER pays!
