Shahjahan promised much initially with the promos and the songs but fails to deliver the goods. The Director is the one responsible for this insipid story track and familiar screenplay. Of all the movies released this Diwali only the music of Shahjahan was welcomed by all parts of people but the movie is a big letdown. Reviewing this movie was so easy. No technical bravery, No classy acting, None so superb to make it a hit.

The story is a one liner. Vijay helps anyone with true love. He uses money, police power and finally his stunts to unite lovers. All is good for him until he falls head over heels for Ritcha Palod. We don't have to tell you another fact that all these happen in College. Vijay decides to help like this courtesy of a flashback. What happens when he helps to unite Ritcha with another friend of his is the story.

The story sounds somber. The songs are too many in number and they are not shot good either. Vijay has to do something in songs. Look all his earlier films, He packs off to Swiss and shoots a song there. It feels like 'Deja - Vu'. The director runs out of ideas and the comedy track fails to impress. Two technicians who have worked hard are the cameraman ' Arthur .A. Wilson' who must be given credit for filming those daring but copycat stunt scenes of Vijay and Choreography by 'Raju Sundaram'. It was Ajith who did it in Citizen now it's Vijay in Shahjahan doing all those climbing and flying using rope sequences.

Before shooting those rope sequences , try watching movies like 'The Matrix' and 'Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon'. So that we could understand the need for it and how effective they have used that.

Vijay has to do some serious soul searching. He has not shown his full potential in acting so is Ritcha Palod.

So the verdict for Shahjahan is clear.

APPLAUSE : Music

AHEM! : Story, Screenplay.

VERDICT : People are not interested to see a song and fight sequence like those in the 70's. They need freshnees in the script and crispiness in the screen play.
