Nothing less than a Jail. Review on Shah and Anchor Kutchhi Engineering College, Mumbai

I completely agree with tech_keeda. This college really has nothing worth to vouch for. I am an alumni of this college, and I can say that the experience wasnt really good. As far as date_amol speaks in favour of this college, that would be because maybe he never got a chance to face the real underlying truth. Frankly speaking, SAKEC is no less than a jail. Prof Bairi and Prof Kotak are the biggest sadists I could ahve ever seen in my life. Prof Kotak is the one who runs the management (dunno if he is still there), and he takes full advantage of that!!! He used to ''teach'' a subject called as Engineering Materials and Components, EMC for short. He has LEAST understanding of the subject, knows actually NOTHING and gets immense sadistic pleasure by torturing students and blackmailing them with dire consequences. He is at very good terms with Prof Bairi...so now we know from where both got these ''torture-and-enjoy'' skills...from each other!! Of course!!

In this college, you get blamed for speaking the correct thing. You are not allowed to take print outs of practical c/c++ programs during the semesters. And in the end of the semester, during submissions, you are thrown out of the lab, saying that late bulk print outs are not allowed. And if one fights for this, you are taken to the HOD of the dept, here Prof Bairi, where you get a good firing not only by him, but also unnecessarily by the one and the only Mrs Uma Rao. This is personal experience. Mrs Uma Rao might have been a great lecturer, but as a human being, she falls in the same category as prof Bairi. She never knew the reason behind all that happened with me then, she was a third person, but yet she not only insulted me, but also my parents. Yes I agree she has never had any biased opinions about any student, but I strongly believe that she really needs to interpret a particular situation in a much more neutral manner.

But there are some really good lecturers in the college, whom prof Bairi just cannot tolerate, as they dont nod there heads in agreement for Prof Bairi. Mrs Shikha Srivastav, Mrs Rachna Shah, Mr M B Shah (who is currently the Principal of SAKEC) are people who guide their students towards their goal. I can vouch for that!!!

No extra curricular activities......restrictions for every little thing, waiting hours together to get just one signature on the project synopsys, very very bad professors, no co-operation of the staff with the students, little knowledge of what they teach...arent these reason enough to not take an admission in this college? You are actually supposed to show your ID card at the gate before entering the college premises, and if you have forgotten to get it with you, you arent allowed inside, you are taken to the officical, where you to give a very valid reason as to why you did not get your ID card. Now, isnt that foolish!! They dont treat you like adults. They treat you like school going kids. The placements are just OK. I mean, companies like Wipro, I-flex, Syntel are those counted ones who come for placement. All others are not even worth joining. The college also allows CALL CENTERS for placement!!! Can you believe that??!!! I made a mistake, and I would warn all others who are considering an admission in this college, to not follow my foot steps. Ultimately its your call......but I would NOT recommend this college to anybody.
