Introduction:

Enid Blyton was probably the most successful British children's writer of the twentieth century, she was born in London on 11th August 1897 and she died in 1968. She wrote over 600 books by the time she died in 1968. Enid Blyton wrote more than 600 books and she is probably the only writer who has who wrote for children of all ages.

About Secret Seven:

The secret seven series is about a secret club with official meetings and everything. The club members were Peter, Jack, Barbara, George, Pam, Colin, Janet, and Scamper (the dog). They have all the ingredients for a secret group -- a membership badge, clubhouse (the shed at the bottom of Peter and Janet's garden), and even a password.

Peter is the head of the Secret Seven and he takes his position very seriously! He does not look kindly upon club members losing their badges or forgetting their passwords. Peter's sister Janet is also a members of the Secret Seven, and makes much more of a contribution than the other girl members. Scamper, their dog is the unofficial extra member of the club. Peter goes to school with Colin, George, and Jack (the other members of the group). Jack's annoying sister Susie is the club's worst enemy as she is a sneak. She is always sneaking about, trying to guess their password, and giving them false clues. Sometimes, this actually helps the Seven! Colin is one who frequently stumbles across suspicious situations, and leads the club into solving them. Pam and Barbara are best friends and giggle a lot. Peter often gets impatient with them, but they do occasionally do their bit for the club.

Some Titles:

Some of the titles are: Good work secret seven, Go ahead secret seven, Secret seven mystery, Well done secret seven, Secret seven adventure, Good old secret seven, Secret seven on trial, Three cheers secret seven, Shock for the secret seven, Look out secret seven, and many more.

Other Series:

5'O Clock Tales: They deal with pixies, goblins, elves, fairies, and all the nice things kids like to read and hear about. A number of Enid's early books were based on children's encounters with fairies and fantasy characters.

The Faraway Tree: Again this is about the kids with the fantasy characters. The two main series are The Wishing Chair and The Faraway Tree. See my review ''Revisiting childhood (and the magical land)'' on this topic

The Adventure Series: This series has about eight books. They are about four children and a parrot called Kiki.

The famous 5: It was a series of 21 books. Check https://mouthshut.com/review/Famous_Five_Series___The_-_Enid_Blyton-43157-1.html

St. Clares: A series of 6 school stories was written for older children and are very sought after.

Malory Towers: A series of 6 school stories, also written for older children. It about the school life of Darrell Rivers who join Malory Towers. It takes her though the first term to the 6th term. Checkout my review at: https://mouthshut.com/review/Malory_Towers_-_Enid_Blyton-43251-1.html

The Mystery Series: Enid Blyton wrote a series of books in which the five children act as detectives, along with a dog called Buster (am I right?). In all the stories the kids outwit the local policeman, Mr Goon.

Noddy: Last but not the least is a series on Noddy which was and is still extremely popular.

As a child I really enjoyed reading her books. My love and addiction for books started only after reading her books as a kid and it is only because of Enid Blyton that I went on to read many other authors. Now, my 6 year old is already addicted to Enid Blyton books :)
