Aah me again with a review on a TV soap. Well to be honest, this time, I am writing this review after checking out the “Reviews Wanted” list. And that is because, I had written couple of articles
on topics which were not existing in any of the categories in the site, and as a result, my articles were not added to the website. This dissappointed me lots and so to make sure that my article is added, I thought of trying out this strategy. And moreover, me being a TV buff, ‘Sanjivani’ is the most interesting topic among the whole list.

Well, when this serial started, it was the most happening TV soap that everyone would prefer to watch. Then, we could relate more to the theme of the serial. Sanjivani, being a hospital, started with highlighting the lives of doctors. The tough routine that doctors are expected to follow, and the way the new interns get acclamatised to their profession.

The lead characters of the serial were, Rahul, Juhi, Simren and Omi. But now, Omi is not shown. Well the serial has progressed a lot now. Lotsa things have happened which is very unbelievable to have happened in a doctor`s life. Well, we are the baits of the TV directors. We end up watching whatever crap is shown to us, because by that time of the day, we are left with no energy to do anything better.

The current situation in the serial is that, Rahul has married Juhi when her granny expired, as he could not see her pain. And now both Simren and Juhi are Rahul`s wife. He, very conveniently switches from Juhi and Simren.

In last week`s episode, when the cops are enquiring about Aman`s admission to Sanjivani with any authentic records which proved him to be a doc, Rahul first stares at Simren when Juhi is making a complaint, and in the same instance, when, Simren throws the ball in Juhi`s court saying that Aman was appointed on Juhi`s request, Rahul, shift the same stare to Juhi. This shows how tactful Rahul is, and, just in case juhi would have questioned, he would have told that I want Sanjivani`s security.

Though Rahul is a very cute character in the serial, but he is shown as a coward sometimes. Neither could he state what he wanted when he was asked to marry Simren. He kept doing things as per his family`s demand and still continues to portray an ideal son`s role.

Juhi, the lead heroine of the serial, is ok. She sometimes overacts. Well, she looks good after her marriage with Rahul in the serial. Atleast she now maintains a bright and cheerful look. She is very irritating in depressing roles where she just made a long face with no other expression.

The background music is striking, but it gets to your nerve when the intention is to drag the serial. I prefer flicking the channel, when the camera is spinned and the repeated scenes are shown.

Simren, the vamp of the series, has done total justice to her character. She has succeeded in portraying as a rich spoiled brat, who always wants things to move her way. I like the way she enacts of being nervous. Very natural acting. In the recent episodes, it is shown that she is being trapped in a major scam of selling human body parts. Serves her right for the sins she has commited.

Doctor Shashank, the most interesting character of the serial. He is a very down to earth, sincere, clear and a dignified personality. He is the most admirable character in the whole serial. He doesn’t let Simren play with Sanjivani and its reputation. He never hesitates to point out to Simren that she is an amateur to hold the post of a trustee of Sanjivani. He exercises good control on her and makes sure that his point is made clear.

Well in my last review on Astitva, people wanted to know more about the direction of the serial. I would say the serial started with a very big note, but gradually the charm has vanished. The direction is reasonable. Nothing great. This soap also reflects the same get up and style of the other serials that is telecasted in star plus. One thing worth highlighting is that even this soap has proved that it cannot survive without a male villian. Aman Khanna was one and now that he has expired in the serial, his place has been taken by Rahul’s brother, I don’t know his name.It has succeeded in maintaining the trend. Initially it used to have a different look to itself, but now this soap is also getting mundane and dragging. Might stop watching this soap too very soon, as it has started becoming intolerable. Would just keep it to watch during ad breaks of Astitva and Jassi.
