I lived nearby this national park so I have frequent visit this place.
The connectivity to national park is good if you use train then depart in borivali railway station go toward east, you get share autos hardly they take Rs.10 and individual auto charge Rs. 20 - 30.
I used to travel by bike and you have group of guy's and plan to hangout then bike riding is the best option.
When you reach national park we have to pay some entry charge Rs. 35 and for bike or car extra charge .Also want to do cycling you can hire cycle at the entrance.
Places to visit:-
1) National park have one well maintain garden, where you can sit and enjoy nature have some chit chat. In morning many people you see jogging nearby garden, in afternoon you see many couples siting, in evening you see many old people, children's and some people jogging.
2) Kaneri caves:- The best place in national park to reach kaneri caves you can catch internal buses or use personal vehicles like bike or car.
I use to ride bike and guyzz frankly speaking I like to ride bike on beautiful roads in national park. You enjoy the cold breeze everytime in national park.
3) Lakes and river:- national park have river and lakes where you can sit and enjoy the scenery some time you encounter with deer's and some other wild animal come to drink water. During summer you get many animal to see nearby river.
Safety:-
As talk about safety you have to be careful with wild animals. If want to go for wild safari you get guide who is well equipped with safety measures follow them properly.
Apart from this place is well organised by staff don't need to worry about it.
Accommodation:-
As such things are not available by national park authority but you get descent hotels and lodge nearby national park.
Best time to visit national park:-
1) Every morning and evening especially in Winter.
2) Rainy season but be careful if you visit kaneri caves because due to heavy rain place are slippery but you enjoy the place during rainy season.
3) When you feel alone or need some silence and space in life do visit national park with bike and some snacks along with you.
