I have come to this city for the first time, for a friend's engagement and there was a lot of time that I had on my hand before I went back home. I wanted to explore the beautiful city of Chennai and also sample some of the authentic South-Indian dishes out here. As I am a pure vegetarian and prefer eating only at veg joints, I was taken to Sangeetha Veg Restaurant by a friend.
The time we went, there was hardly any rush and we easily got a good table to ourselves. We were handed the menus and as it was a Friday, I wanted to try their Special Dosas for today. I called for the Paneer Masala Dosa, Onion Uthappa and the famous Filter Coffee. It took around 5 minutes for our order to come to our table.
The Dosas came smelling just fabulous! My mouth was already watering by the time I could put the first bit onto my tongue. The Paneer Masala Dosa was just YUM! This with the fresh coconut chutneys and sambar was tasting delectable. The same goes for the Onion Uthappa, which was fresh and delicious. The coffee was outstanding! I called for a second round of coffee and enjoyed every sip slowly.
When you are in Chennai, or this part of Egmore, then do try Sangeetha's as it is worth all the time, money and effort.
