Got the new samsung x-700 from Delhi in June-2006 for Rs 9600(with bill and 1 year warranty). Now its available here for around Rs 8700.  I surfed various mobile review sites on the net before I finally setteled down on this phone...and mind it, I never regretted my decision. To keep the review informative and simple........first the GOOD POINTS :

GOOD POINTS :-

1) 1.3 MP camera(still and video recording)  :-

bsp;  The camera quality is very good in daylight conditions. The images are crisp n good in color, contrast and brightness, almost like a digicam of same resolution. There are options for varying image  resolution and quality(super-fine, fine, normal).

2) SLEEK AND GOOD LOOKING :-
                This phone really rocks as far as looks are concerned. Black body made of classy plastic with silver sides give it a professional as well as cool look. The set is very comfortable in hands and weighs around 100g which is just about normal. The keypad is stepped and keys are easily distinguishable.

3) GOOD QUALITY MP3 PLAYER, FM RADIO, BLUETOOTH........:-

bsp;   The mp3 player is quite good. One can hear stereophonic songs even on handsfree. ame for FM radio. Bluetooth compatibility with all latest sets.

4) 35 MB internal memory, upto 1 GB microsd memory card  :-

bsp;  35 MB internal memory is one of the largest in this segment of mobiles. Plus upto 1 GB expandable memory....lets u use it as mp3 player.........or store any file u want on memory card.

5) GOOD BATTERY LIFE :-
                Battery life depends on the usage.....with around 30 mins of calls, 60 mins of songs, and playing around with features for another 60 mins daily.......the battery lasts very easily for 48 hours.

6) 1000 entries phonebook, 200 sms, GPRS........

7) EXCELLENT SCREEN........not a surprise by samsung, samsung displays are better than any other phone any given day.


Now the BAD POINTS ..........

1) No flash or night mode in camera....

2) OS is NOT symbian.....so no third party applications can be installed.........but java games and applications can be installed(which are quite good in fact).

3) Can not make profiles as in nokia.

4) Can not have ringtone and vibration together.
