Problems - Limitations encountered in software of Samsung GSM Mobile -> SGH - X430.
1) Calendar Feature - Allows viewing of only one calender entry at a time. Consider you have made to entries in calendar on 21st March and 22nd March 2005. Once you are on 21st March 2005 viewing the entry for that date there is no back feature available. For viewing entry of 22nd March 2005 you are required to exit the application and again re-enter Calendar application.
2) Transfer of PhoneBook Information from SIM to Phone Memory and Vice-Versa - The feature allows transfer of one entry at a time only. There is no function available for mass transfer.
3) This time Alarm related feature...
a) Try this out. The problem persists for all dates and is not limited to the dates mentioned below. Current date in the Phone is 1st April 2005.
b) Add Memo with Alarm for dates 2nd April 2005, 4th April 2005 and 6th April 2005.
c) As expected the Bell Icon appears on the top center of the screen indicating atleast one Alarm has been set.
d) Now view the Memo for 2nd April 2005. Either delete or remove the Alarm entry for this date.
e) The Bell Icon disappears from the top center which is wrong as there still are Alarm entries for 4th April 2005 and 6th April 2005.
f) Switch Off and then Switch On the Mobile. Now the Bell Icon appears on the top center of the screen.
4) Adding multiple memos on same date in calendar.
a) You cannot add another entry for the same date for which you have already added memo.
b) However add the same memo entry to some other date and then move the same to the required date (have a memo). This way we can add multiple entries for the same date.
5) Calls not received when playing games - Calls are directly registered under Missed Calls without the ringing when playing games (built in games as well as java games) quite a number of times. This behaviour was not consistent.
6) Calls not terminated when the party on the other end hangs up - The call is not terminated when the party at the other end has already hung up. The call counter continues to display incremental time and requires a phone reboot to terminate the call. This behaviour was also not consistent.
There seem to be problem with the basic features of the phone itself leave aside the other problems reported thus leading to a not so friendly user experience.
