Hi Mouthshut Friends!!
The first thing that attracts you to this phone is its blue back light which even lights up a dark place!! Once I started using it I started getting to know more about its cool features.
Phone entries can be stored on the phone also in addition to the SIM and thats a big plus!! The last 10 called numbers are available at the press of just one button (the green one on the left). This saves you the trouble of selecting from phone book or dialling the whole number. :). This feature was the one which I liked a lot. And of course you get to see the last 10 missed calls, received calls and dialled calls. You have a minute minder which beeps at every minute when you are talking. You also have an option of saving an entry from the SIM onto the phone. This helps if you are going in for a change in SIM card.
Some of the tones (not polyphonic) are very nice and of course you can download from the net also. SMS tones are also good. Vibration is very very strong. Even if the phone is somewhere way inside your bag you still feel the vibration.
SMS sending is also cool. You can save commonly used messages as templates and use them as n when you want. Of course like some other phone models you do not have custom smiley built it. you need to type them out. But I guess this drawback is negligible in front of the other good features it has.
The keys on the phone are strong and durable. A person with big fingers (unlike me though) too can easily use the phone. :) You have different keys for yes and no. This is much better than having the same key for both the functions like some models in nokia. (no offense meant to nokia users. just my opinion)
Sound clarity is again very good. You get to hear the other person and get heard by them at even a very noisy place.
How good the hands free is I have no idea as I never tried that.
There are certain pictures that you can set as you screen saver. If someone sends you an SMS with a picture you can save that onto your phone also. Other than these pictures you also have a clock that can be used for this.
Key pad lock option is also present. The number of seconds after which the keys have to be locked in customizable.
There are some 2-3 games in the phone. But never tried them.
Once fully charged the cell stays upto 3 days with an average talk time of about 1.5 hours each day. If you use a screen saver then the charge is over by abt 1 and half days to 2 days.
Now coming to the looks, the phone looks very cute with its silver n dark blue combo. It was luv at first sight :) . You also get silver n gray but thats not as bright as the silver and blue. The blue of the phone compliments the blue back light. Vice versa too I can say.
In Oct 2003 I bought it for Rs.5000. Now of course the cost is lesser. Complete worth for money!!
To sum up, a very good phone with the basic necessary features for someone who is looking for phone utility as is and a reasonable price range and a good brand name too.
