I bought this mobile bcos I needed a cheap phone with FM. And I wanted a color display. It has turned out to be a handy mobile. It is quite durable as I dropped it quite a few times and it is still woring fine. Overall it is a satisfactory phone. The phone display is crisp and clear. Any day better than the dull display of the Nokia 6030. However the images that are downloaded are compressed to fit the screen. So now I have a fat priyanka chopra as my wallpaper. It has stereo FM which is again good. But the reception quality varies with location. Reception is poor while travelling.
However what we get to listen when we listen is still stereo. The channel cannot be changed by using the handsfree control, which is possible in the 6030. It does'nt send to many option for SMS's. That is really irritating. The phone is quite slow. it takes 2-3 secs for every option-which patient though I am-still gets on my nerves sometimes. It does'nt have speaker phone. Battery backup is poor. Keeping it for charging evry day before sleeping has become my daily routine. If u r afraid that ur mobile will be stolen and want to buy a cheap mobile with FM, this is the mobile ur lookin for.
Ispite of its many drawbacks, it looks cute and it fits well in your hand and in ur pocket. It is definitely better than the competing NOKIA and Motorola phones for this range. And one more thing. The Infrared doesnt work. So dont count on it as an advantage while comparing it to another mobile. It seems that the infrared is only for transferring address book but no mobile-samsung included-detects this mobile on infrared. Also the ring volume is quite low compared to other phones.
