I am writing this review after a month of using the new galaxy i9003 "smart" phone...got sold on the looks and the fact that it had android...our prior experience with android was fabulous with my wife's LG P500 phone, so I didnt blink twice.
I was so so wrong. Within a day, I noticed all the call drops and poor call quality...then realised that there was no-network in some parts of my house...something I never experienced with my previous blackberry phone...that was a start...irritating, but I tried getting used to it...and then noticed it happened when I was in car, when I was in the mall, at the golf course etc etc....about 50% of the time in a day, I was not reachable!!!
And then the next jolt...phone would just switch off without a sign...and you notice this after 30 mins, and you have missed all calls/smses by then...and now in the last week, it has started happening atleast 6-10 times in a day...and then you have to remove the battery to restart as the button doesnt work.
today I went to the dealer "The Mobile Store" on HAL Airport Road, who simply pointed me to samsung repair centre in Domlur. Here comes the next shock.
This Samsung centre isnt run by Samsung but some third rate company called Cell Solutions...extremely discourteous staff...they were surprised I didnt get a xerox of invoice. This without asking what the problem was...when I asked what they were gonna do, they simply said "Its a software problem, and we will just load new software"...btw "You will lose all data "...in total disbelief I asked why they couldnt take a backup and reload it back, they said "its not something we do"...as I walked back, I just could make sense of how such lack of customer service could be tolerated.
and now every friend of mine tells me " why did you buy samsung, they are known for bad network reception/voice quality"...as I stare down my already-dead-again phone.
as you read this review, you will only do yourself disservice by buying a samsung again...yes they look good, but you buy phone to talk right!
