Bitter Experience with Sagar Automobiles

I would like to share the worst experience ever i had visiting a Car dealer (I have bought 3 cars so far) in the process of buying a car on 19th April 2007.
I am currently owning Hyundai Getz which

is just one year old. I am extremely satisfied with the customer service and the quality of the car. However, having heard good reviews on SWIFT Diesel, i thought of having a test drive and consider changing my car and go back to the Maruthi family ( I owned a Maruthi Vehicle ealier).


When enquired for a test drive, the dealer "Sagar Automobiles", Bannergatta Road, Bangalore (I chose this dealer as it was very close to my residence) informed me that they have a policy not to send the car to the customers’ place for test drive. I believed it and went to the show room. To my surprise, the car was sent to some other customer (to the customers’ residence) and i was made to wait for one and a half hours. This is the first instance of biased treatement for a customer and violation of their own policy.


After waiting for one and a half hours, the car arrived and the sales rep sent us to the car for test drive. Then out of the blues I get a message from the DGM (Mr.Mohan) that the car cannot be sent for test drive as it was beyond 6 PM (We were made to wait since 5.30 PM) and it had rained and brakes may not apply. If the policy is not provide cars for test drive during the rain, i tend to suspect the quality of the car and will have strong apprehensions and I will recommend all my friends and colleagues to be careful when they consider a Maruthi vehicle, specifically SWIFT.


On top of this, when I approached the DGM he did not have the patience to listen to a disturbed / frustrated customer and told us that he is not intersted to talk to us (as i had raised my voice out of frustration) and is not worried whether I do business with him or not. He was arrogant to the extent of saying that "Go and complain to anyone you want".


When SWIFT was launched we had read that prospective SWIFT customers would get a special treatment and i hope this was not what MARUTI planned.

I strongly recommed to anyone who reads this to choose another dealer in the city if you were to buy a Maruti product.
