Tendulkar is now embedded in history of Cricket as the highest run getter in Test cricket, after over taking Lara’s milestone of 11953 runs. Sachin has taken 152 tests and 247 innings to reach this milestone at Mohali on

. Sachin’s greatness can be measured by his contribution in winning cause on 47 occasions and loosing cause on 43 occasions. Many a critics have pointed out the fact that Sachin never contributes to Indian victories, and this fact has been disproved. On 43 occasions if he has contributed to graceful loosing it adds to the weightage of Indian teams performance.
Sachin has scored most of his runs at No 4, 10041 runs and still going strong. Many want him to continue till 2010. Sachin has played as captain in 25 matches and as non captain for 127 matches. I am sure if Kumble retires Sachin should be nominated as a captain till he retires. This will definitely be a right step to groom another youngster. I am firmly against Dhoni as test captain for the burn out factor. In fact we should have alternative keeper too for test cricket which is taking toll on Dhoni, I would prefer him to concentrate on One day and 20/20 solely.
Sachin has played 27 matches against Aussies and scored maximum runs against them amounting to 2512 runs and still going strong. In the current match he got out for 88. Nevertheless century was for the taking which would have been his 40th one.

achin was virtually turning out to be a bunny for Muralitharan and Mcgrath getting out 7 times. Of late Sachin has not much to achieve except make the landmark unattainable for another decade like our own Sunny which had taken a decade to surpass. Sunny’s contribution has been 10122 runs in 125 innings.
“ It is all about converting stones into Milestones “ was a fitting reply to all his critics. Dravid and Ponting are really breathing down the neck of Sachin. Dravid has 10341 runs with 127 tests. If given an opportunity Sachin could amass 14000 plus runs and than hang up his boots.
Let us congratulate the Legend who batting skills were thrill to watch against Pakistanis & Aussies in particular. His belting of Joel Garner, Holding, Akram, and Sharne warne has been legendary. I hope he will bid adieu with a triple century to his credit. After Don it is our own Sachin who rules cricket.
