Yes he was great and very well considered a God of Indian Cricket. I do remember when he had entered in the Indian Team and in his initial matches he played superb and the time goes on and he became not only an excellent Batsman but a good bowler too. Achieved all the superb record in his account and Sir Bradman also recognised him and shared meal with him in Australia.
But the expectations and his superb batting and bowling made him God of the Indian Cricket and world recognised his credit worthiness.
Then what happened to him?
He along with other players preferred to secure his future in financial terms, which is quite obvious and every one's right. But alas he forgot Cricket and became Brand Ambassador of many corporate groups.
The Hero turned super flop in recent years. All his records and achievements were thrown in dustbin by indians, becuz expectations were very high and three shoulder operations, made him non performer. Nobody realised his pain and agony while performing the best, despite his surgery of shoulder and arm.
This was the time when he was to quit the One Day international gracefully. But he continued to play but the best opener was being sent 3rd or 4th position in batting order. This also irritated and in the last World Cup, he despite orders by Coach and Captain, he preferred in opening position. The result were best performance and due to his best efforts along with other, Indian Team, reached in Semi Finals.
This time too, expectations were very high and it was not right enough to have high expectations at the age of 34 years.
Why BCCI fail to understand that he was a good performer, which is past tense but present is a super flop and non performer.Do they think that Indian victory in the cricket series is less important than glamour of Sachin, Dravid, Sehwag, Dravid, Saurav the so calledMafias, as Greg Chappel considered them as senior players.
Apart from this the following in the case of Sachin Tendulker is worth stressing:
*Today morning I was watching one news channel where he was cutting a cake in the shape of Indian Flag. The biggest dishonour to our National Flag. The picture was taken when Indian Team was in West Indies. He cutted the cake and committed the crime for which he is likely to be punished for insult to Indian Flag.
Moreover the Indian High Commissioner is more liable for the national insult, first for his position of High Commissioner and more the the person representing India in world. He should be recalled and punished.
This really hurt me as Indian Citizen.
