I enrolled for Oracle Application Development(OAD) course with SQL Star, Bangalore. I approached them on 4th Jan 08 and told them that I want to start my weekend classes only from Feb 08, they insisted me to immediately make an advance fee payment of minimum 10, 000/- the same day so that they can block a seat for me. I made the requested payment on the same day. I got the receipt as well as a Broucher with Terms and conditions which had a clause on refund. It clearly stated that the refund can be claimed before starting the classes and part of money could be taken as administration charge.
Late January I decided not to go ahead with the course and approached them asking for refund. The real problem started since then. They started treating me like rubbish. No response for repeatedly emails /calls, when I directly went to meet them they made me wait and the only response I use to get was we cannot promise refund, we are not sure if your refund can be made, we cannot confirm any refund date and so on.
I then insisted to meet the Branch manager on this issue. When I met him on 6th February 2008 he assured me that the refund will be made and he needs 45 days time, he wanted me to give a hard copy application requesting refund which I gave the same day. I waited for almost 45+ days and as expected didn’t hear back anything from them. I tried calling the Branch Manager on 25th March, tried calling almost 6 times, different times of the day and he was avoiding picking my call. So I decided to directly go and meet him in his office. Again he made me wait for 30mins and after which to my surprise he completely refused to know about any such issue of refund, the promise he made to me 45 days back. He started shouting/barking at me and wanted me to leave the premises. He told me that on the receipt its stated NON-REFUNDABLE RECEIPT so no refund can me made and when I told him about the refund clause in the Broucher he just told me that he don’t care and cannot make any refund.
I just don’t want to let go such huge amount, not sure what do to, what options I have to get my hard earned money back from this unprofessional institute on Lavelle Road, Bangalore. Also I want the students to be very careful before approaching this place. They are cheaters. The Branch manager is very indecent and the whole sales team is a bunch of unprofessional people who need classes on how to speak to customers.
