Disclaimer: I've gone through many reviews on mouthshut and found that many people are criticizing seed infotech for many reason..
This is what I experienced after joining seed..But I will surely cover as much as I can in my review..
Coming to the end of my degree..i wasn't sure as to what should I select as my career..finally a close friend of mine suggested me to join seed infotech and pursue testing as a career..He mentioned the advantages of testing and recommended me SEED INFOTECH as a coaching institute which will offer me practical as well as theory knowledge..After hearing the advantages I agreed with my friend and gave it a serious thought about becoming a tester..HE TOLD ME THAT IF U WANNA BE A TESTER THAN SEEDS THE WAY TO FOLLOW!!!!!!!!
He told me there was no other institute as better as seed anywhere around mumbai for testing..
I joined the testing batch at THANE branch under the guidance of RAHUL SIR..i trully have high respects for him as he was a ISTQB foundation level certified and had more certifications to show. I was informed by seed people that the batch was supposed to start on 22 march 2012 when I had gone to secure admission..one more thing to be noticed was that the staff guided me nicely and the counselor asked me as to what course I wanted to join and accessed me and she too insisted me to join for testing..
The batch started on 22 march itself..SEEN VARIOUS PEOPLE ON MOUTHSHUT COMPLAINING THAT THE CLASS DOESN'T START ON THE SCHEDULED DAY..but my batch started on time
The seed people wait for a specific amount of students and start the batch..obviously if you are just a single person who took admission in the batch then they wont start the batch just for you even though the scheduled day arrives..You yourself wont feel comfortable sitting alone in a class and a trainer teaching u RITE?
The best thing about this coaching institute is that they not only give u technical knowledge but also help us in improving our APTITUDE..
There was intensive 2 weeks of coaching on aptitude so much so that we mastered the skills of solving small problems..Then we were given brush-up on DATABASE..coz there are companies that ask questions regarding database too during the interviews..There was a C language brush-up also which help everyone..It was a month and till now we dint even get the over-view of the course that we actually came here for..It got frustrating..in this one month there were several tests conducted on the above mentioned technical knowledge and there was a score card for every student
After a month we were showed the schedule which included our testing coaching and we felt great as the thing that we came here for actually was gonna start after keeping a patience of one month..
There were different trainer for database..C and aptitude training..
The course started and the training was awesome as RAHUL SIR thought everything slowly..slowly and steadily we got the grip of things..
There were 2 parts of testing ie manual and automation..
I did manual testing and then left due to some family issues..after 2 months I rejoined and attended few manual lectures again as I dint understand few concepts..this was an advantage as we could attend same lectures in other batch..
The sad part was that RAHUL SIR wasn't coaching this new batch which I joined..There was a Mam named shraddha amrutkar..she also had good knowledge but not that good as compared to rahul sir..I completed my automation with the new batch and SIDE BY SIDE I KEPT GOIN FOR INTERVIEW FOR TESTING PROFILE..
THE CATCH COMES HERE..
SEED CLAIMS PLACEMENT ASSISTANCE AND NOT ASSURANCE GUYS..THAT MEANS THEY WILL INFORM US ABOUT THE OPENINGS AND WE HAVE TO CRACK INTERVIEW..AND NOT AS WE THINK THAT THEY WILL GIVE US JOB..READ THE CLAIM BY SEED ..ITS ASSISTANCE ( help ) AND NOT ASSURANCE ( sure-shot ). So guys saying I dint get a job etc etc just means that there is something lacking in the student..not in seed
There is added advantage that seed people also provide training to people who are weak at certain areas..even there are HR MOCK interviews held by seed..
I DONO ABOUT THE REST TRAINING BUT IF U CHOOSE TESTING AS A CAREER THEN CERTAINLY CHOOSE SEED AS YOU COACHING INSTITUTE..
There are various courses offered by seed..but all I can say is that they hire excellent trainer provided students pay a lil interest as to whats going on in the class
It has various center across India..ie Maharashtra..Madhya pradesh..Chattisgarh..Karnataka..Tamil nadu
If any issue than the student can directly contact the placement support team..There are short term courses also..other details can be obtained online as to batch timings..staffs..etc
There are many certified courses offered by seed which is is microsoft certified, oracle certified, ibm certified etc
There are many courses offered by seed, but I would recommend to people who want to join testing coaching..JOIN HERE..i can guarantee you will be happy with the coaching
What matters at the end is the knowledge that we gain..and tremendous knowledge is obtained..The best part is that we are given practical knowledge also..as we work on tools used in industry and to buy this product one will need big capital..
AM SURELY SATISFIED AS I DINT EXPECT THAT I WILL SURELY GET A JOB FROM SEED..I STARTED GOING FOR WALKING EVEN BEFORE MY COURSE COMPLETED AND THE RESULT IS AM THE 1st PERSON TO GET JOB IN THE ENTIRE BATCH OF 15 PEOPLE..
One of my friend has joined for database and even he is happy with the knowledge he is gaining..
The alumni network is also strong as people inform others about the opening going around..Extra curricular activities are also very useful as they help us cracking interviews.
There are discount for people who give certification exams..around 1k less..
The administration is also very nice..and supportive..and the academic progress is being recorded by the seed people..
One more thing that I would like to bring to people notice is that..providing proper details is must..as the openings come on yahoo group..so there are people giving gmail address and waiting for job openings and proper details will help them also get u placed asap
Few things I dint like about seed was that the course fees was too expensive..
testing course cost was 27,000 and after tax increasing its shooted upto 32,000
But as compared to other institute offering testing it was less..but even though just for testing 32k is expensive..
The schedule gets a bit extended due to some or the other problems..sometimes trainer absent..sometime technical failure..etc
One more bad thing is that the AC's hardly work..and fans the other alternative
I initially joined a regular batch for 2 hours 5 days a week..and then later when I rejoined after taking a break I joined fast-track batch which was for 4 hours 5 days a week..
i recommend that if you are a slow learner join the 2 hours batch..
One thing that I dont like is that..inspite me completing my testing course..they send mails for other openings too..
It may be advantage for those who interested in multiple domain..but as m interested only in testing it used to bug me..
Conclusion: All in all a great coaching institute..a must join if you're interested in choosing testing as a career..i can guarantee that..but can assure about other courses..but surely have heard good things about other courses too..
