I just returned from a trip to Mahabalipuram today. Its 70 km drive from Chennai (Madras). This was my first long trip after I bought my C5 ( Classis 500) about 20 days back.
You feel like a king on the highway. leave alone the looks I felt that most four wheeler respect the C5 when they see one on the Road. Long disctance driving was fun though currently I under speed restriction ( before completion of 500 km). The bike feels rock solid on the highways and the powerful Halogen headlight make all other vehicles like sissy.
what I hated though was the seat. After a point in time your bum start hurting and I had stop several time over during my trip. the seat are too soft and when you sit on it your bum starts touching the spring support beneet. Royal enfield needs to fix this. Also the rear seats are too small for the pillion too sit comfortably.I am thinking on replacing my bikes seats with the std version seats which are much more sturdy and stable.
A few nitting bitty here or there as well. Royal enfiled should look at adding more features on the dasboard. I mean common, this a 1.5 lac bike and today bikes costing 60 - 70 k come with a tachometer a fuel gaugeo, a side stand indicator. Also the horn is too sissy , I changed my mine.
Apart from this I think its a great bike to own....Go for it folks if you are still thinking
