Royal Challenge Premium Whisky is blended whiskey from Shaw Wallace. Shaw Wallace is the Indian flagship company of the Gulf based business house of Chhabrias’. Royal Challenge Premium Whisky is also known as RC.

Royal Challenge Premium Whisky

Royal Challenge Premium Whisky is one of premium brands of Chhabrias’. As per their claim, RC is blend of Scottish Scotch and Matured Indian Malt Whiskies. Skilled hands blend Scotch and Matured Indian Malt Whiskies to produce Royal Challenge. Desired quantities of selected scotch, Indian Malt Spirit, potable Alcohol, Caramel and approved flavors and essences are blended to get overall roundness and typical characteristics of RC.

RC’s unique taste and typical character not only makes it different from other Indian blends but also capable to challenge many imported blends. This is one of my favorite Indian blends.

RC is available in four sizes. Quarter one will cost you @ Rs.150; cost of the half bottle is @ Rs.240; and for the full bottle you have to pay around Rs.460. There is a big brother - one liter bottle – too big for me and I do not know the price.

Today Royal Challenge has strong challenger. It is challenged by Royal Stag because of its quality and very reasonable price.

My way to relish RC

# A bottle of beer or a peg of whiskey does not require any preparation but it is better to be prepared for a long drink session. I fill my stomach before a long drink session. A large veg sandwich with a glass of tomato juice serves the purpose. Tomato is a miraculous vegetable to control hangover. I never go to a cocktail party without proper filling. Avoid oily stuff. Frankly, I do not have any hangover problem because of this habit.

# I prefer RC on the rocks with spicy bites like roasted fish. Assorted platter is also good. If you are veggie than may try spicy alu chat or harabhara kabab. I never cross 180 ml when on the rocks.

# Second alternate is with club soda. Most people prefer this combination. I go for this combination if the parties going to be long one like that of New Year Party. Take care of dehydration and loss of vitamins.

# Last but not the least is cocktails (only for guests). I do not spoil my favorite drink by mixing something else. However never mind to have a mix of 30 ml RC with tomato juice in case of a long drinking session.

# Never drink if I am supposed to drive after the party. I search for an escort (?), whenever I get an invitation for a cocktail party – and normally I get an escort.

Incident to remember

Santa & Banta came to Tezpur (my native) to kill a man-eater (tiger).

Spent the whole day searching the beast but could not trace it. At around 4.30 pm visibility was quite low because Sun goes down very early in NE during winter. Santa and Banta decided to go for early dinner and prepare for the night. During dinner, they could not resist testing local country liquor LAU-PANI made out of rice.

During dinner with the help of locals, they prepared a plan to trap the man-eater. Plan was – “Santa will put on a cow’s skin and stand under a tree to attract the beast. Banta will seat on a nearby tree with his double barrel gun and wait for the man-eater. Banta will shoot the beast as soon as it approaches cow shaped Santa.”

Villagers arranged a skin of a cow and Santa-Banta followed the plan. They waited for long but the beast was smart enough to avoid them. However, they were still hopeful and decided to wait until dawn. Early in the morning, Banta could not resist a nap on the tree. He got up when he could here some noise. He looked down and saw Banta lying on the ground. He came down hurriedly and asked - Kia whoa? Where is the beast?

Poor Santa, subha subha a very bad encounter.

Guys, need not worry when you try RC however be careful when you try something new. Royal Challenge Premium Whisky is smooth and goes down gracefully if we are graceful. Try Tomato Juice if you still have hangover next day. Effect of other forms of tomato, specially cooked one, may not be useful.

Since long I have not read any alcohol contaminated review. So decided to break the ice. Itna achha bhi mot banno ki jindagi ka motlab hi nahi rahe.
