ROJA !!!. Review on Roja

‘Dil  hain chota sa…choti si asha…’ In a beautiful village of South India, a  girl was dancing with the tune of this song. She was very happy on that  day. Mr. Kumar visited that village to see the elder sister of that  girl. Fortunately, the young man got a glimpse of this young lady. The  elder sister of that girl has a boyfriend. Rishi understood her feelings  and decided to marry her younger sister. Everyone in the village passed  comments on this issue, but, Mr. Kumar is a modern man. He hardly cared  about all these things. After all, he fell in love at first sight.

After  the marriage ceremony, they planned to go for a honeymoon in the  ‘Paradise of Earth’. ‘Yeh haseen wadiyan….yeh khula aasmaan…’ Really,  the snow-capped peaks and the whitish-green valleys with pine trees were  just superb. How can you ignore the Dal Lake! Mr. Kumar’s wife found a  South Indian in Kashmir, who became her good friend. By the way, Rishi  is an employee of Central government. But there were security lapses.  Near the temple, some people kidnapped him. The news got spread all over  India through daily newspapers. The villagers of that beautiful south  Indian Village were also worried about the matter.

Pakistan  is the motherland of terrorists. The concept of ‘terrorism’ in the name  of ‘Jihad’ started from Pakistan only. Even Jinnah would have never  thought that his Pakistan will become a terrorist state instead of a  peaceful Muslim nation. In the name of Allah or Jihad, the Pakistani  terrorists do the brain-washing of the Indian Muslims residing in  Kashmir. They target those Indian Muslims who are illiterate and  jobless. They provide guns to these Indian Muslim youths and order them  to fight for the freedom of Kashmir. Kashmir is an integral part of  independent India, but still some Indian Muslims of Kashmir don’t  understand this simple thing and take up the AK-47 in their innocent  hands.

Wasim  Khan was a notorious terrorist who killed several innocent Indians. The  point to be noted, that a Pakistani terrorist also kills Muslims. If  Pakistani terrorists are the warriors of Allah, then why are they  killing their own Muslim people? It is because of the fact that  terrorists have no religion or color, they are a curse for humanity.  Moreover, the ‘Islam’ religion preaches about peace and harmony, not the  violence in the name of Jihad. No where in the Quran, it is written  that all Muslims should go for Jihad to make the whole world, a Muslim  world. In medieval ages, in Central Asia, the Caliphs used to declare  Jihad to maintain law and order in his own states or regions. Therefore,  the word ‘Jihad’ is nothing but the ‘imposition of Curfew in an area to  maintain law and order’. Later on, some Muslim rulers started preaching  that the word ‘Jihad’ means religious war and the Muslim people started  fighting against the Christians of European countries. In modern times,  both Saddam Hussain and Osama Bin Laden used the word of ‘Jihad’ to  declare war against USA, though it is not a war of survival or revenge  but terrorism only.

The  terrorist leader who kidnapped Rishi sent his relatives to the other  side of the Indian border, which is in Pakistan, to get trained in the  terrorist camps. In the meanwhile, Kumar was thinking about her wife and  singing the song, ‘Roja…Janeman…tujh bin kaisa hain jeena…’ The Indian  government was not in a mood to release Wasim Khan but there were no  other options left. If they don’t release Wasim Khan, then Rishi will be  killed by the terrorists. Pakistani terrorists killed the relatives of  the terrorist leader of Kashmir. After all, Pakistani Muslims never miss  the opportunity of killing an Indian Muslim on the soil of Kashmir.  Those Kashmiris realized that they are Indians, not the bloody  Pakistanis. Will they release Mr. Kumar without any condition? To know  the answer of this question, one has to watch the Mani Ratnam’s “ROJA”  which features Pankaj Kapoor, Madhu, Arvind Swami and others with the  fantastic music of A R Rahman.
