ABOUT ROCKY
The rocky series is the most amazing trilogy in history; all four movies have been major hits, part four being the biggest hit followed closely by part 3. You can add another amazing
film to that and that is rocky five my personal favourite film of all time, and no it’s not my favourite rocky, it’s my favourite movie of all time. This movie might not have been such a huge grosser like the other four movies but look at scar face that movie bombed big time at the box office and now today everyone is remembering how such an amazing film scar face was, but this is all about rocky, I will be reviewing this movie as yes we are all excited for Rocky 6 also known as “Rocky Balboa” which will hit the cinemas on March 2007. Not only are the rocky movies packed with almost everything emotion, drama, action, motivation, comedy it is also packed with the five best soundtracks ever produced. Come on who can forget the eye of the tiger that many films and songs copied from Rocky III and also the famous Final Countdown song which Maine Pyar Kiya took from Rocky 4. What about the famous run rocky made in part 1 which is still remembered today people hang it up on there walls today and it is the number one inspiration showing rocky climb the stairs and have his hands raised up high. You remember how he could not climb the stairs before in the first movie and after motivation he ended up sprinting up the stairs? When at the end he gets knocked down didn’t it bring a shiver down your whole body when each time he got up? When he knew he lost at the end he shouts out Adrian name. When in part II his (now wife) Adrian tells him to win and he wins, when he then trains and runs up there stairs when before he had no one following him and now he has kids running behind him. When he actually wins in part II and he says “apart from my kid being born, this is the happiest day in my life”, “All I wanna say is to my wife Adrian I DID IT”. When in Part 3 the eye of the tiger soundtrack plays didn’t it get u pumped for part III? When he loses his title and Mickey dies didn’t it make you feel for Rocky? When he wins his title back and knocks out clubber didn’t it make you what to cheer? When Drago Kills Apollo didn’t you get upset? When Rocky Climbs the mountains and train in Russia along with music “hearts on fire” didn’t it get you motivated? When he finally beats Drago and does the impossible didn’t you want to cheer? And finally when Rocky says to Tommy Gunn “You tried knocking him down why don’t you try knocking me down?” Duke shouts out “Tommy Gunn only fights in the ring” And Balboa says “MY RING IS OUTSIDE” didn’t you want to jump of your seat for the so called “Final fight?” That’s what this is about people here is final chapter of the best trilogy ever made in history!
ROCKY V
Rocky has just got out the fight of his life with Drago, but he has a huge problem now the money is gone! Paulie accidentally made the accountant sign for the power eternity and all the money has gone the only way out is go back into the ring and put on his gloves one last time. He will have to fight to get back the money, but the doctor said he can not fight as he has suffered brain trauma, if he fights he could get disable or even die. Adrian forbids him to fight as she does not want the money she wants Rocky to stay alive and not risk his life, Rocky now has to go back to where he started from. Back to the streets of Philadelphia, this time he has grown more mature and he has a kid as well. He meets Tommy Gunn who he manages and he lose interest in his son and Rocky whole time is taken up by Tommy. Tommy turns on rocky and after becoming the champion he will never be a true champion until he defeats Rocky Balboa, because His title is manufactured and he didn’t win it of the original Champion Rocky who retired as a champion. He needs to force Rocky Balboa into the ring one last time to prove he is not just another “Bum” (as they say in rocky).
This may not be a lot of peoples best Rocky but it sure is mine, there is everything for everyone in here there are many scenes in here which I will explain in detail:
When rocky has a flash back about Mickey :
I normally do not cry in movies but this scene just made me drop a tear it is the sweetest scene ever! The way Sylvester Stallone face expression is the music of rocky is always delightful on the ears the piano with soft music and he walks in and puts on a dusty glove and stands there and looks at the empty ring. This line was just amazing “You know, kid, I know how you feel about this fight that’s comin’ up, because I was young once too. And I tell you somethin’: Well, if you weren’t here, I probably wouldn’t be alive today. The fact that you’re here and doin’ as well as you’re doin’ gives me, what do you call it, a ’’motivization’’ huh, to stay alive? ’Cause I think that people die sometimes when they don’t wanna live no more.” Mickey then gives rocky a golden chain with a golden boxing glove. And says when I go and when ever your down and you feel like you’re going down and down this cufflink will be like an angel on your shoulder and it will slowly whisper in your ear and say “GET UP YOU SON OF A BITCH, COZ MICKEY LOVES YOU”. The scene ends with rocky crying and saying “you where the angel mick” Just one word to describe that scene “AMAZING”.
Rocky and Adrian Fighting on the street after Tommy stabs Rocky in the back:
When they are arguing on the streets, Rocky is furious and throws his coat on the floor and he is saying how he is just another “Bum” in the neighborhood how he doesn’t want this and when Tommy was winning all those fights it was like Rocky was winning again this line made me speechless “All those fighters you beat, you beat them with heart, not muscle. That’s what Mickey knew, that’s why Mickey and you were special. But Mickey’s dead! If there’s something that you want to pass on, pass it on to your son! For God’s sakes, your son is lost! He needs you! I know Tommy makes you feel great-he makes you feel like you’re winning again. But you’re losing us! Rocky, you’re losing your family!”
Another amazing scene
The fight between Tommy and Rocky was amazing the build up to the fight was just too amazing and the fight itself was amazing it wasn’t just a boxing match it was a street fight, there was kicks and amazing take downs by Rocky. The ending credit was also a thing to watch going back at all five Rockys and the song the measure of a man by Elton John with screen shoots from all five Rockys!
What made this series or film so amazing was the connection between Adrian and Rocky and there son. It felt like they where a real family and the connection between wife and husband and son was just to amazing I never seen an amazing connecting in my life in a movie.
