Recently, I misplaced my regular mascara. Needing to find a replacement fast, I headed for Kmart. There I found the Revlon Everylash Mascara. It was made by Revlon, a name I knew so I purchased it.
BIG mistake! One of this mascara features is that it has a built in comb to separate the lashes after applying the mascara. The comb appealed to me in the store, and all the way to my van. I opened up the package, examined the tube, and began applying the mascara.
Application is not easy with this wand. The part of the wand that you hold is more than 2 inches long, and 1/2 inch diameter. The top half of the handle area is clear, and this is where the comb is stored. The comb flips in and out easily. Due to the size of the handle area, and the little tab on the comb, this mascara is hard to apply.
First of all, you have this big wand to maneuver around your eyes. This works okay on your upper lashes, but once you attempt to apply mascara to your lower lashes - forget it!! It is nearly impossible to apply this mascara to the small lower lashes without making a huge mess.
If you do manage to apply the mascara, the comb is there for you to brush out the many clumps this mascara produces. Sure, the comb works, but it is messy too!! First of all, the clumps you comb out have to land somewhere. Cleanup leaves a goopey mess to contend with. The comb also presents its own problem with the lower lashes especially. As I said before, the handle part is hard to hold. When using the comb, you hold the wand between the comb and the brush that is full of mascara!! Several times, I ended up with more mascara on my hands than on my eyes.
The concept of having a comb included is wonderful. If only they could figure out how make the wand more manageable, this mascara might be suitable - you still have the clumps to deal with.
I am glad that I found my regular mascara in the van the next day. I still kep this mascara around for emergencies!!
