Repli-Kate, a movie from the producers of American Pie 1 and American Pie 2 is a Zany and witty clone comedy.

Gender bending and genetic tinkering are the molecular structure for this cloning comedy. The plot revolves around an ambitious geneticist Max (James Roday) who is on the verge of a significant discovery. Max and his lab teammates are excitedly engrossed in their research project on genetics. Under pressure from their boss Dr. Jonas (Eugene Levy) to produce concrete results, they successfully clone a hamster from a drop of a real hamster's blood. A beautiful journalist Kate (Ali Landry) arrives to interview the young scientists, especially Max who is largely responsible for perfecting the replicator. The alluring beauty of Kate, who is at the moment involved with a rock star, smites Max. While she is at the lab, interviewing Max, at one moment the cloned hamster bites her and some drops of her blood fall on the glass disc used in the replicator.

As fate would have for Max, he accidentally replaces the disc with Kate’s blood instead of the hamster and as luck would have it he clones his beautiful dream girl. Max is astounded at his creation and with the help of his associate Henry tries to keep the clone out of sight. The two discover that she is like a blank slate on which they can write anything and decide to mould her into a ‘man's woman.’ At Henry's prodding Max agrees to program the clone (which they name Repli-Kate) to "think like a man." Thus we have a clone of Kate, ‘Repli-Kate,’ who indulges in sex, sports and drinks beer like a fish. They create her into a ‘man woman.’ Stronger than most men and far from docile, Repli-Kate complicates Max's life, especially when he's unwilling to satisfy her insatiable sexual hunger. Keeping her out of the way becomes difficult for Max and Henry who are expected to make a presentation of the replicator in three days. Adding to their pain is the real Kate who also falls for Max while the clone runs around the campus.

"Miss USA" titleholder Ali Landry voted as one of the world's 50 most beautiful women adds to the drawing power of Repli-Kate. Seductive Ali Landry is ideal here as everyman's dream, in a slinky dress or dirty boxer shorts, and she handles the comedy with star-making flair. Aside from her physical assets, she can act remarkably well for a newcomer and successfully brings out a clear distinction between the real Kate and the clone. James Roday justifies his role as the geneticist Max. Eugene Levy as Dr. Jonas goes overboard a couple of time with slapstick stuff. Desmond Askew as Henry gives able support.

Coming from the makers of American Pie 1 & 2 the sexual angle is exploited to its limits however director Frank Longo plays it safe with easy and predictable laughs, coming straight out of the treatment he is meted out to this film, which sets the tickle bones screaming. A fine comedy to watch on a dull rainy day.

The DVD also had the Hindi language version on it, which was titled Choco Bar
