A cool teen show. Review on Remix

I luv the show, so I thought I may as well add my own review. The 4 main characters of the story are: - Yuvi, Ashi, Tia & Ranvir. and its abt how they all forget their differences and ultimately form the band ''REMIX'' (I heard its actually adapted from a foreign soap)

Yuvi and Tia are already friends at Maurya High when Ranveer and Anvesha take admission in the 11th grade. Tia Ahuja:-a completely self obsessed girl of 17. Spoilt by her doting father. Tia is very close to her father and has always wanted to see more of him, and also to know more about her dead mother. She refers to herself in 3rd person. I recently saw that she writes a letter as first person, so I suppose, this 3rd person part is just her style. Says ‘puhleez’ instead of please-again another style. And u can catch her often say: - “Tia Ahuja hona koi aisi waisi baat nehi hai.” Though she’d rather have nothing to do with Anvesha, she’s very fond of the latter’s mother, Sonia. Tia can both sing and pen lyrics very well. She is worshipped by her room mates, cum friends-Pree & Meher whom she calls ‘Tia’s angels’

Priyanka/Pree: (I can’t figure out her surname) Slightly obese. The other 2 try to control her diet. She is very romantic. She had a big crush on Ranvir but is over that now. Meher Dastoor: a bomb like character. Has the history of having dated almost everyone at school. Till date, she has dated both Yuvi & Ranvir.

Yuvraj Dev: - Spoilt brat of politician Yashwant Dev. Fears no one except his father (whom he slowly starts to hate). I think the only teacher he really respects is RD sir. His passion is his music, for which alone he lives. He sticks by it though Yuvi’s father tries time and again to remove him from it and impose his own ideas on him. He had a liquor problem. But I think he doesn’t drink now (from what I saw in a recent episode). His chums cum room mates are Sid & Nakul .( though he's a bit short I think, Raj Singh Arora who plays Yuvi makes up very well for it with his attitude.)

Siddharth: an okay character, except that he had a gambling problem sometime ago, but is now cured. Usually partners in crime with Yuvi. Nakul: a wannabe cool guy. Refers to himself as Na-kool. He uses the word ‘cool’ a lot. Has a mad crush on Tia.

Ranvir Sisoniya: - he is a scholarship student. He’s here for revenge coz he holds Sumeet Ahuja, Tia’s father responsible for his own father’s suicide. But falls in luv with Tia. He is otherwise a very nice guy, mature for his age and very polite. Refers to himself as ‘hum’. He has a way of calling his friends ‘banna’. I think it means ‘brother’ or something in Rajasthani. His roommates are Aman & Varun. Aman: another scholarship student. Till quite some time he was pretending to be a Hindu, when he was really a Sikh, for fear of being made fun of. But now, he has accepted his religion and faith, and even started wearing a turban. Much to his disgust, his old fashioned parents have already fixed his marriage (rather child marriage) with their friend’s daughter Manmeet. he dates Vrinda.

Varun: a nerdy guy with stammering problem. He has burdened him self with a dark secret. Due to this, he shied away from others, until Ashi & MP befriend him. He finally tells Ashi that his real problem is the guilt he had been carrying all these years, of accidentally causing his elder brother Vaibhav’s death. He had persuaded Vaibhav to come for a swim with him and Vaibhav had drowned. Neither his mother nor he himself had forgiven him for that incident. Ashi later finds out Vaibhav was into drugs. He was in the effect of dope when he went swimming, and that was what caused his death. Though his mother still dint believe him, Varun had always been grateful to Ashi for relieving him of the guilt.

Anvesha Ray Banerjee: (my fav character) daughter of bollywood actress Sonia Ray. She is neither close not wants to be close to her father Arunab Banerjee, a business man based in London. A rebellious 17 yr old, she often competes with her mother (I think she considers herself less likable or beautiful as Sonia).Though she hates her mother’s interference in her life, and often complains that she’s tired of her, various incidents make it evident that the mother-daughter share a special bond. Ashi is the one who has 10-20 words to her lingo. Her room mates &friends are Vrinda & MP.

Vrinda: another scholarship student, Vrinda is a very sweet character, whom everybody likes. Due to her sweet nature and no-ill-speaking-abt-others type character, Ashi has nick named her ''Vrindeshwari Devi''. Vrinda seems to have some problems with her parents. They don’t seem very close to her. Vrinda’s Sonal Maasi works in the canteen.

Maria Priya/MP: A sporty person. She initially thought that she was sent here on a sports scholarship, later finds out that actually, she has a secret sponsor, who’s also her guardian.

OTHERS:

Sumeet Ahuja: Tia’s father. Loves her to bits. He has taken quite a liking to the ever polite and pleasing Ranvir. He however doesn’t miss a chance to fight with Sonia Ray. He now dates Pallavi, a lawyer. Kaikash Kaka is his old butler.

Sonia Ray: she expresses herself in a dramatic style. But as she has herself explained once, that’s coz she’s so into films, she knows no other way to express herself. She fears that Arunab can like he threatens, take Ashi away from her. She and Sumeet Ahuja spend most of the time they ever see each other on fighting (she has nicknamed him Mr. Cement, and never seems to get his name correct). But she’s fond of Tia and is always there for her, when Tia comes to her with her adolescent problems and such. She has an assistant cum friend, Kookie.

Leo: Ashi’s adopted brother. I don’t know nothing much abt him except that he had run away from an orphanage and his only brother is in jail for attempted murder. He’s very fond of Ashi's family.

the teachers in the school make the rest of the cast. I think its quite a watchable serial except sometimes it appears a little westernised. you know the part with parents involved in their children's dating. I haven't seen an indian city that developed. but in any way a relief for my poor sore eyes. like all the other star- one shows, its a refreshment from all the regulars.
