This is regarding transfer request 1077036028 (I have no issues putting transfer request # as I have deleted all my bank accounts registered with remit2india and all the receivers addresses). This was a donation of $100 and according to their website, they would charge $3 as transfer fees. This leaves me with $97 that receiver would have got in demand draft. With exchange rate of ~Rs 48.5 on the date of transfer (it was actually more than 48, but just for the sake of simplicity), draft amount should have been ~RS 4700. But draft was only sent for RS 4489. The 24*7 toll free number works only if you want to SEND money, but not if you have already SENT it. Chat feature in contact us also does not work. I have send 2 emails asking for clarification, but no one has ever responded back. I am sure someone with come back saying that they contacted me at my registered contact email, but I have setup rule in my yahoo account to directly put any email from remit2india to another folder. So emails can’t go to bulk mail also.

I would have had no problems if someone came back and explained me the charges. Also, even after deducting $3, I don’t think there should have been any other charges. If there were any valid charges these are not mentioned anywhere in their website (atleast not readable by a normal human being).

Its not about loosing 200RS, its about fighting for my right. I would recommend and BEG anyone who is trying to send money to india to not use this service.

And worst part, just now I received a telemarketing call from Remit2india asking if I am planning to send money to India. I told them about my problem and he hung up :)
